Waitrose do a nice one. I love the stuff but only recently got into it in the last year or two. Black pudding with a fried egg is a cracking start to the day.

"Had it Burnley once at a hotel when working up there. It was a starter for an evening meal. This thing came out deep fried with batter and the size of an ice hockey puck! Kin delicious! Didn't really need the main course. Generally love a bi of BP, a nice touch on a traditional fry up."

"Always swerved it until the last fews years. Really like it now. Started as the reluctatant last thing on the plate I'd attempt to eat, to being bumped up and evenly eaten on a full bifta breako. It looks grim, but it's a good counter flavour to everything else*. *Even if you have chips."

Best BP I had was at The Savoy of all places. Dad won a chess competition and the prize was dinner for four.

Love it sliced thick and fried so the outside goes a bit crispy. Works weirdly well with scallops.

Love it but it's not nice when sliced too thin & is overcooked. Needs to be thick slices & just warmed in grill/pan. It's already 'cooked'.

"Given that millions of people enjoy cows' eyelids and arseholes, which are the main ingredients of most fast-food burgers, black pudding is not that far down the scale."
