I’m sure some are aware of Robert Banks’ West Ham History YouTube channel. He’s got to the the 98/99 season with his 20min videos. That was my favourite time as a West Ham fan. Di Canio had just joined, we still had Berkovic and Moncur. Sinclair and Lampard were in great form, Rio was one of best young players in the league and Joe Cole was just coming on the scene. We had characters like Ruddock and Wright too. Well worth a watch for some lovely memories - great away win at Stamford bridge included- it all seemed a lot simpler then…

Spot on Gank. Back in 2001 people were happy he got sacked. I remember how excited we were about moving foward with a new manager . I think MaClaren was bit favourite for many to take over. Then...shit

I remember everyone on here was delighted when Redkapp was sacked. The joy and discussion of being in a good position to get a decent manager was all over the forum. Then we got Roader and we instantly knew we were in another big West Ham fuck up. Once again the owners screwed up big time. Once again all we could do was support and make the best of another mess.

If you look at the talented team we had at the time we definitely were not playing as a sum of our parts under Rednapp. And then the Roeder fuck up. Yeah our owners were just as shit then as well.

Song was a loan so I guess wasn't an enormous expense. He was skilful, I liked watching him play, clever turns and carrying tbe ball, but he did nothing for us. A bad version of Kudus this season.

The years I had a season ticket. More ups that downs, exciting players and some good football. If you ask me we haven't come close to that consistently.
