Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
The time has come :)

So what do you think has got to be done in the summer regarding ins and outs?

The Kilman rumour has reared its ugly head again.

Fabrizio Romano is suggesting we're going to back with a second proposal.

We're idiots for chasing him. Move on to the next target FFS.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Plettenburg reporting Kudus release clause is active at 85m from now....plus we're interested in tonnes of left footed right wingers...plus we were expecting 85m for Paqueta...plus we're hearing we don't have the budget we thought we did.

Could it just be we're drumming up business for Kudus, because Steidten's whole summer plan was based on getting the Paqueta 85m so we need that income from one of our big players...which basically means Paqueta, Bowen or Kudus.

Could be were thinking Kudus out (85m), Soule in (30m), then using the banked 50m to get the rest of the squad rebuild done.

Johnson looks like he's off to Ipswich.

Emerson aside, our full back situation was already bad enough as it was. I hope whoever we get in is someone who's better than Coufal.

COYI - Kehrer is long gone!

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
if we only had £60m to spend this summer, i doubt we would have dropped around a third of our summer budget, or even a quarter of it if the £60m is what's left in the kitty after our first signing, on an 18 year old Brazilian who's natural position is where we have the most depth in the squad. Exciting as he is as a prospect we have more pressing positions to fill if money is tight.

Also after what happened to him at Wolves i wouldn't be surprised if Lopetegui didn't get some cast iron guarantees on transfer budget before he signed on the dotted line.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
The squad as it currently stands:

GK
Areola
Fabianski
Foderingham

Full backs
Coufal
Johnson (not good enough)
Emerson
Cresswell (old and past it)

Centre Backs
Zouma (crocked)
Mavrapanos
Aguerd
Kehrer (going)

Midfield
Ward-Prowse
Alvarez (injured)
Paqueta (suspended)
Soucek
Downes

Forward
Benrahma
Kudus
Guilherme
Antonio
Ings
Bowen
Cornet

I think we will have to keep Downes and Kehrer at this rate.

True RR ..too many on the site . Are becoming like some of the numpties on KUMB . No ambition whatsoever. Only difference is on here there ain't anyone . calling themselves GSBgsb . Unlike that shitepit .where ambition goes to die .

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Don't believe it's only 60m, especially when consider that we have a new manager who needs to sign about 6 players, he would have demanded a proper budget too.
60m is less than we've had available in a summer window for about a decade as well.

Calling BS on that. Reckon we'll spend similar to what we usually do, 80-100m even without the Paqueta money.
We'll likely have 30-40m on other player sales, Benrahma & Kehrer fees alone are about 20m.
Maybe he means 60m plus any incoming fees.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Well if the rumours eminating from whetstone are correct. And I've got a horrible feeling they are . Lopetegui only has £60m to spend . Which is obviously an absolute joke . As much as I was Moyes out he really wasn't the clubs biggest issue . That is dwarf and his sidekick. Until there gone nothing changes.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Can't believe some on here are happy to let Alvarez one of our best players go when we already need to 6 or 7 in as it is and we barely won a point without him last season.
He's one of a handful we need to keep and build a new team around, and can do without having to replace on top of the areas we are short in.
Madness!

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Personally, there are not many players I'd be looking to sack off in this this team if we are about to start a new era under a new manager.

Priority should be in strengthening a light squad and that only becomes harder if you start selling your most valuable assets.

Even Cresswell has been retained for a year in order to make this transition a little easier for the new manager, which makes sense to me.

Until we absolutely need to, or we get a ridiculous offer, or we finally build a big enough squad to compete, we should not really be so quick to sell anyone.

Danny Ings aside.

Makes you wonder why Ten Hag didn't take him to the Mancs when he left Ajax. Personally l would love to see him stay. I think Loppy would be of the same opinion to!

Fair Point Solid,
However, ask yourself who played with him...
Soucek and JWP I rest my case but point taken

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
The only thing I would say is that most the team looked like they’d had a gut full of Moyesball and that the January window really showed that the club hadn’t backed Moyes so they were in for a hard slog. Then again that fits in with how I detested Moyes’s set up to play the game…..but it was strange how they ‘turned up’ for that 1st half of the Levekusen home leg…..almost like they were saying to him…..(in my best Jim Bowen) this is what you could of had…..

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
It's silly stats to put up about what or what doesn't happen in games about a player to try to prove a point, didn't we not win when Paqueta didn't play for a period, yet in his last 10 games or so he was a fucking joke and his fanboys were putting up all types of ridiculous excuses for him.

I'm ambivalent to if the taco stays or not, but is he irreplaceable? I think we all know the answer to that.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Alvarez is an excellent holding midfielder who knows his role and is happy to do it, rather than someone who wants to show he’s an all singing, all dancing box to box midfielder. Sure he gets too many yellow cards but that’s the nature of the beast of playing that role for a team who never had the ball.

As said, our record with him was greatly improved vs our record without him.

Lee Trundle 11:16 Mon Jun 24
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Some of you have VERY short memories regarding Alvarez.

Our record without him playing was fucking dreadful in the league.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
I really rate Alvarez, but if we could get big money for him and replace with two players I think we should.

greenie1 2:54 Mon Jun 24
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
I don’t rate Alvarez. Declan replacement? Nah. I’d sell him, Paqueta and our centre backs given the chance.
