This is the LB from Atlanta I said we should take a long, hard look at end of last season. I saw most of his minutes in Atlanta and really believe he'll be a very solid premier league player in a year or two. lots of pace and strength, but above all very good vision and football intelligence which is unusual for an American. Gutted to see him going to Chelsea given their track record developing players and the fact they are cunts:

It'll take a supreme amount of shitness from Lopetegui to get this squad relegated, which I severely doubt will happen.
I think questioned can be asked if we've strengthened the squad much (as of now) but it's not really been weakened at all with the players that have left.

1. We will bring in at least two more good signings, possibly more, depending on outgoings.
2. Not only will we not be in a relegation battle, we will finish higher than last season.

Should easily be good enough to avoid the drop, especially without Europe, but we could easily be in the mix. Our squad was weak beyond 4 or 5 players last season. We also didn’t win a single game when Paqueta was out.
If Lopetegui is to play an attacking passing style we need to address the lack of creativity we have, otherwise our crap defence might get caught out more.

Plus no European football to think about.
We will still bring in a RB, LW and ST this window. Another CB if Aguerd leaves.

Don't think so LB. Usually we were told by a dithering Moyes how "difficult it is to sign players so hopefully they'll be one or two in by the end of the window"
This year it was mentioned shortly after Loppy's appointment, it is important due obviously to having a new manager and a lot of new players.

EXCL: West Ham have submitted initial proposal to Leeds United for Crysencio Summerville.
Talks took place also on player side, but still not close, considered very expensive.
AS Roma have also included Summerville in their list but only in case Soulé deal doesn’t happen.

Don't think we are in that bad shape.
He's a good manager that would keep us up even without anymore additions no doubt.
Just need to get a few of these deals that have been mooted for a few weeks over the line.
On a positive note we still have best part of 4 weeks to this before the season starts, you'd think he would want all his ducks in a row for Aug 10th Betway cup game though.
Maybe we are waiting for players unwanted to be sold before we spend, and also we don't know how many of the youth players might feature in the squad plus Irving. He is certainly having a good look at them, this could 3 or 4 more to the squad.

I'd be happy with Jota Silva, looks a decent player, can play left , right or through the middle and most importantly he wants to come to us.
Been linked since before the window opened so I'm sure Sullivan put this on hold to avoid paying the wages yet again to the detriment of building the squad in pre-season.

When do we ever have the squad together before the season starts? Sullivan doesn't operate to that model.

West Ham expected to move as price comes down to bargain €10-12m
West Ham United are now expected to make their move for Jota Silva, and if they’ve been playing a waiting game it looks like it’s working rather well for the Hammers.
Multiple Premier League clubs have been linked with the Vitória de Guimarães player this summer and it’s the Hammers who have been the subject of most claims.
Monday’s edition of Record reports that West Ham have already been in contact for Jota Silva, presumably asking the conditions to sign the attacker in the current market.
For now, they haven’t gone further than that.
Jota Silva scored 15 goals and contributed seven assists playing in a variety of attacking roles last season. The 24-year-old made his Portugal debut on the back of that but wasn’t included in Roberto Martinez’s Euro 2024 squad.
His contract expires next June and that puts Vitória de Guimarães under some pressure. They had been trying to push interested clubs towards his €20m release clause, which felt like a push too far.
Record now say the club will accept €10-12m given that they need to bring in some money.
West Ham are therefore expected to move. Panathinaikos are also keen although it’s not thought they’ll offer enough and Jota Silva himself would prefer a bigger championship.

Suspect Steidten will stay home … hopefully… and get some deals done before we return in 2 weeks & all the internationals (Areola Bowen Paqueta Coufal Soucek… Alvarez?) return
Need to make up their mind on some of these links & get them over the line

Ludo - Yep, gone to Saints for 18 mil. Not defending anyone but maybe they think Potts and Orford can step up now making it OK to release Downs.
Approaching August now and being out in the States won't exactly help.

Been away for a week with no internet access which was fantastic... would recommend it!
Imagine my surprise that nothing has happened apart from selling Downes. Has that been finalised? I can't believe we have sold a very decent CDM who will suit our new style of play down to the ground without bringing in a replacement.
All comes as no surprise unfortunately...
