Steinberg makes a case against that does seem to be reasoned?
Fabrizio Romano has since indicated (19 July) that the Hammers want to make him a “top target” even though the Saudi side are unwilling to sell but Steinburg claims Kanté’s fitness is no longer good enough for the Premier League.
He wrote: “Kante was injured for most of his final 4 seasons in England. Not sure why anyone would think he’d be physically up to it after a year in Saudi.
“And no, a few decent games in much slower international football isn’t proof. It would be a huge and unnecessary gamble from West Ham.”

Apparently the season ticket sales . Were still over ,90% . The clubs biggest issue is Sullivan. And until he sells up it's always going to be the clubs Achilles heel . He's proper small time . And players know it as well and our fanbase.

Kante won’t happen simply because of the wages., because we won’t break our wage structure for him. If he is prepared to drop into our structure then that a massive tick in his box I reckon.
The injury thing in his last season doesn’t really make him injury prone, was really up to that and played 44 games (shit league) in the season after. Would be great for around £20m on reasonable wages for 3 years I reckon.

Reading thru all the wen sites and media rumours it would seem we are in a few discussions with clubs / players but nothing is close? Kante wont happen. Razzle/dazzle noise for the fans

don't get me wrong, I like kante and think he's a great pro and would give 100% but it has that grubby little fucker sullivan written all over it, trying to get that one or two deals in for his contact/s, and also possibly facilitating another cash grab by moving on alvarez after just one season. at another time, kante would be perfect, especially if we had those extra european games but I just think we'd be better spending it on a better goalscorer

i'd have thought the caravan life would free up a bit of cash flow for you.
he missed pretty much all of 22/23 with a hamstring. at his age thats a big reason not to sign him.

Also this injury bollocks. In his entire career he's had one bad injury. Granted it was last season but injury prone? Nope.
Do you think it would help if he had a West ham duvet like Downes?
I'm not in love with the potential signing but understand why we might do it. Makes sense on a lot of levels.

David James was subbed on as a centre forward once - that doesn't mean he can play there.

Always overrated Michael, not shit. Having just watched him at the Euros more of you divs have started to catch on what an absolute robbery we pulled off for Rice. Interestingly Kante was excellent at the Euros. Obviously if you missed that you must have spent the entire tournament with a cock in each eye socket ya little bender. Back under your rock son.

Kante is a holding midfield player.
A small % of the time he's played as an 8.
He's never played as an attacking midfielder, or left or right.
So no, he hasn't played across the entire midfield.
Nobody is doubting the player he was, but the player he is now for £20m and on big wages and with recent injury problems.

Can and has played across the entire midfield for Chelsea. The irony is that this would actual facilitate the youths getting a chance in the first team due to being a bit old.

Personally don't want Kante here. If we need cover for Alverez would much rather have a younger player in there. If Alverez has a similar season for us I think he will be gone next summer. Then we should have someone to step up. We could of had Kante before Leicester got him but wouldn't take a punt then, but now ready to throw money at him now he is basically retired
