With regard to Wrexham, my view is Disney funded the purchase through the sales pitch given to them.
It was a no cost no risk thing for Reynolds, just give your name to it and the creation of a show to highlight it

So a famous basketball player takes up a small stake in West Ham and millions of his fans worldwide, most of whom are likely broke, then log into www.whufc.com and each spend 100 bucks on a shirt? You do realise the club doesn't make anything from tops flogged on DHgate for 10 bucks, right? You're a fool.

You really don't understand business, do you Manuel.
Ryan Reynolds has a estimated £350 million in his bank but his purchase of little old Wrexham has gained the club millions of supporters around the world and millions in income. I expect them to be in the Prem within 5 years.
It's not all about how much can you give us to spend on players. Much is about raising the brand and selling the merch to new markets.
O'Neal's investment could be worth a 100 million in shirt sales alone as well as raising our profile in the US massively.
It'll probably come to nothing though, this being the silly season.

Nothing to see here, his net worth is valued at around $500 mil, so even in the unlikely event that he did come in it wouldn't be for that many shares and would ultimately just be pointless, the same way as it is with the current Yank, Tripp, who has 10%.
