West Ham United complete signing of central defender Maximilian Kilman from Wolves

West Ham United is delighted to announce the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers central defender Maximilian Kilman.

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a seven-year contract at London Stadium after spending six hugely successful years at Molineux, where he played under new Hammers Head Coach Julen Lopetegui and was named captain last year.

Possessing plenty of Premier League experience, Kilman has forged a strong reputation as a hugely talented and reliable defender with more than 150 appearances at Wolves, where he played his part in their run to the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals in 2019/20.

Having started his career at non-league Maidenhead United, where he was managed by Hammers legend Alan Devonshire, Kilman has thrived ever since moving up to the top flight with his August 2018 move to the Midlands, and is now thrilled to be taking the next step of his career in east London

West Ham takeover: Keith Wyness expects 100% offer after ‘being involved in calls’

Ewan Kingsbury

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has revealed West Ham could be the subject of a full takeover bid within a year.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested minority owner Daniel Kretinsky will abandon his move to buy 100% of the Irons.

The club is presently owned by four major investors – Kretinsky, David Sullivan, the Gold Family and Albert ‘Tripp’ Smith.

Late ex-owner David Gold’s daughter Vanessa announced in October 2023 that she would consider selling part of her 25% share in the club if the right offer came along.

According to Forbes (May 2024), West Ham is worth £880million after their recent success in the Premier League.
West Ham takeover bid could come within a year, says Wyness

Wyness suggested a “big group” could be coming in to complete a full purchase after being “involved in calls” on the subject of an Irons takeover.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “Daniel Kretinsky, who owns 27% and is the guy bidding for the Post Office, we thought he was going to buy out the rest of the club.

“He seems to have stopped that process and it seems there is light for new investors.

“The valuations are going to be very different from where we were even a few years ago.

“There has been gossip behind the scenes, and I’ve been involved in many calls on the West Ham takeover subject.

“It’s difficult to know the timing, but I think we’ll see a development within a year.

“Sullivan isn’t getting any younger, and I feel the other shareholders would be willing to sell now.

“I think it’ll be a big group coming in, so watch this space.”

West Ham make ‘formal offer’ of ‘more than €35m’ to sign 25G+10A player

By Naveen Ullal

West Ham United are one of the clubs to have looked at Girona star Artem Dovbyk for this summer.

That’s according to Saturday’s edition of AS, who say West Ham have made an offer worth ‘more than €35m’ to sign the striker.

The Ukraine international impressed for the La Liga side last season, scoring 25 goals and registering 10 assists from 41 games.

Dovbyk played a vital role in helping Girona qualify for the Champions League, and his fine displays have attracted interest from other clubs, including West Ham, Napoli, Atlético Madrid and from Saudi Arabia.

Los Rojiblancos have made a €25m offer, which didn’t please their Spanish rivals. As well as Atlético, the 27-year-old has received ‘formal offers’ from Julen Lopetegui’s side and the Naples club.

The Hammers and Napoli proposed more than €35m, say AS, but the option of moving to England or Italy doesn’t seduce Dovbyk.

He and his family are happy with their life in Spain, and the player can fulfil his dream of playing in the Champions League at Girona. Both the Hammers and the Serie A side have failed to qualify for Europe next season.

Therefore, Dovbyk has rejected offers from West Ham and other clubs in order to continue at the Spanish side.
