Happy St Swithins day
Given the state of the English weather right now it’s a pivotal day for the rest of summer?

July 15th and if it rains today it will rain for 40 days, if it’s fair, then 40 days it shall last.

Fuck knows what the climate crazy’s think of this bit of olde English folklore though?

Carlisle (or similar) mid-week away in the cup in my early twenties would have been a right laugh! These days the full-time whistle will go about the same time that im usually ready for bed.................

Never trust a saint, dodgy as fuck, the lot of them.

Whatever their agenda is, it doesn't include either us or those who fear God.

I looked it up and its never come to pass, either 40 days of rain or 40 days fair! LOL

Didn't stop generations thinking there was something to it though? My old Granny included....

Know it's been a shit summer so far but hopefully the UK has a decent Autumn, i visit gain in September so would be nice if its blue sky's and no rain, not sure i will get to a West Ham game this time, haven't even looked at the schedule for the month, but unless its mid-week i will be out of luck, Carabao Cup perhps???.

Re: Happy St Swithins day
Thinking back now,
I suppose you were just stating your views
What was it all for
For the weather or the Battle of Agincourt
And the times that we all hoped would last
Like a train they have gone by so fast
And though we stood together
At the edge of the platform
We were not moved by them.

With my own hands
When I make love to your memory
It's not the same
I miss the thunder
I miss the rain
And the fact that you don't understand
Casts a shadow over this land
But the sun still shines from behind it.

Thanks all the same
But I just can't bring myself to answer your letters
It's not your fault
But your honesty touches me like a fire
The Polaroids that hold us together
Will surely fade away
Like the love that we spoke of forever
On St. Swithin's Day.
