They had a minute silence at the Shanghai Masters final today, which was a nice touch. Don't think I've seen that at snooker before.

Agreed a great bloke was Ray. I met him at Pontins in Devon in 1974 and assisted him with one of his trick shots. My old man was livid, Mum had dragged him out on a day trip and he missed seeing him .Dad was a big fan of Ray along with Eddie Charlton.

Bit of a legend was Ray, if not a figure of fun a times, but he got to a good age. O'Sullivan is playing in China as I type, will no doubt be upset to hear the news.
