West Ham United complete signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka

West Ham United is delighted to announce the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The right-back, 26, joins the Hammers from Manchester United on a seven-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The Londoner moves to London Stadium after making 190 appearances for the Red Devils across five seasons, during which he developed into one of the best one-on-one defenders in the Premier League, won the FA Cup, EFL Cup and started a UEFA Europa League final.

The Crystal Palace Academy graduate has been a Premier League regular since the age of 19, appeared 35 times in European competitions and been capped by England at Under-21 level. Now, he will continue his career in his home city.

“It was a no brainer for me to join West Ham – I’m excited and happy to be here,” said the 26-year-old, who will wear the No29 shirt.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be back in London, and I’m excited for what’s coming. I was born here, so I know the ins and outs of London, which plays a big part in my life, so to be back playing in this city means a lot to me.

“I’m happy to be here, am grateful for the warm welcome, and I am excited to be playing for the Club and will give it my all.

“I can’t wait to get on the pitch, get to know the players, and push on from there. I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each others' backs through thick and thin, so being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad.”

That's actually true.

Because you judged him before you'd seen him play for us at all.

Played very well, that lay off to Bowen that led to a goal was classy opened up their defense.
I like Coufal, but sadly he will have to make way for this new boy.

Saw the highlights. Quality. That’s coufal relegated to the bench, Shirley

Re: Aaron Wan-Bissaka Signed
Was exceptional Saturday

I watched Coufal first half, he's literally all over the place, does not stick to the flanks, gets drawn in to the centre then is frantically trying to recover all the fucking time

I just don't think he was ever that good, just we have had shocking RBs for years

AWB is pure class

Re: Aaron Wan-Bissaka Signed
The one signing we made this year that without question will work out, others may but he is as close to a certainty that you can get. Absolutely miles better than Coufal.

If he stays fit, and sees out his contract, he'll be out best right back in over 30 years. Comfortably.

Re: Aaron Wan-Bissaka Signed
Wan-Bissaka has always been a good right back, he's in his prime too.

If anyone doubted he would be a good signing surely when COYI said he was shit should have washed those doubts away..

Re: Aaron Wan-Bissaka Signed
Man U mate here said he was a bit shocked at how AWB had been played and how effective he was, said at ManU when he got a game was very rarely seen past the halfway line!

Think a few were surprised we went in for him as wasn't seen as the type of player Lopi and Tim would go for? Guessing they know how they wanted to play him and that was very different to how he was deployed by ETH.

Few Man U I've spoken to are surprised and a bit gutted to lose him.

Always thought he's had decent games against us so pleased with the signing

Has SWISS been on (again) to tell us all that AVB is shit??

He showed fantastic pace awareness and a good touch.

Defensive solidity too.

Great debut

Re: Aaron Wan-Bissaka Signed
I read up on him and apparently he was a winger and converted to defence pretty late on in his development.

So I don’t get how he doesn’t know how to go forward? Young player of the year then player of the year at palace before moving to Man U. Just 10 minutes on the pitch and you can see he’s a baller. I just don’t understand?

I just think Man U ruins players or at least your perception of them. Man U are the Bermuda Triangle of football. Who knows what the fuck goes on in that club?

I could never understand this nonsense about he wasn't good going forward. Today may have put that one to bed. Keep it up Aaron Son !

Re: Aaron Wan-Bissaka Signed
What was the nonsense thar he’s only good defensively (like that’s a negative for a defender)? Lovely stride out from full back for the first.

Good signing IMO!

Big contract though, 7 years? Basically, the rest of his career at the highest level.

^Swims past the bait thrown by COYI, you silly cunt. LOL

Looking forward to the new season. Not long to go now, may take time to get the players used to working in a new system - but it feels much more positive at the moment.

Glass half full optimist here - a much better mindset to have imo.

Re: Aaron Wan-Bissaka Signed
Foderingham - third choice, third rate goalkeeper
Klman - unapped defender from a relegation rivsl whom he shelled FORTY MILLION POUNDS on
Todibo - Barcelona reject aigned from a shit league
Wan-Bisaka - Man Utd reject mercenary who stalled coming here over MONEY

Rodriguez- unproven has been whom Pellegrini has just bombed out of Real Betis
Guillherme - unproven kid from Brazil who we have shelled out TWENTY FIVE MILLION POUNDS on, on a punt
Fulkrug- immobile 30 something forward who only lasted a season at Dortmund.

Sunmerville aside (who I think is a real star in the making), all of the signings are questionable.

Yeah, what a great transfer window!

Relegation battle ahead. Nailed on.
