Is anyone feeling Christmassy yet?
I'm on a bus from London, gannin home.
They're playing Christmas music.
Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmas Time".

An inexplicable, horrible song

What the fuck did he do that for?

Anyway, Merry Christmas to most of you.

Fuck off

Two days to go and I still haven't heard Last Christmas.

Tense end to the Christmas run-up but looking like it could be done.

I'm listening to German Carols with a candle lit whilst working at home. Very nice.

Now when I say Carols, it's not some German pono flick

Dumping Spurs out the cup tonight would be a nice early pressy.

I assume that all these people who have major Christmas light decorations on their house and garden are still on decent energy tariffs?! Just looking at a few January's electricity bill could be eye watering!

All these idiots starting Xmas in October has ruined it somewhat, not that I’m a big fan of it as it just makes those who have very little feel even worse

"Blazing Saddles on the other hand is genius and still as funny as it ever was".

I don't think it was very well advertised as I basically stumbled across it, but a few years ago there was a screening of Blazing Saddles at Hammersmith Apollo, followed by a live interview on stage with Mel Brooks.

I couldn't believe how much energy he had for a guy who was already pretty old. A true, natural performer.

Outstanding evening.

It’s very very quiet round my way. Seems people are taking the whole week off. Feels a bit like last year which was horrible

Inwardly yes.

With a diverse offshore workforce, things quieten during Diwali then ramp up until Xmas eve.

I need to hold leave over as might be moving house in the New Year and the Mrs and I are going to hole up in a hotel from 24th - 27th December.

I have never really been a fan, it's forced family fun, retail driven, acrylic jumper manufactured in a childs sweatshop bollocks.

My 11 year old absolutely loves a film called Nativity. It’s got the bloke out of The Office in it and she watches it every year, and I sit and watch it with her every year. It’s a nice little tradition. Film’s just a bit of light hearted nonsense but she finds it hilarious. I love watching that with her.

Other than that, Die Hard I agree is brilliant. Alan Rickman makes it. Due Hard 2 also good. I liked 3 but found Jeremy IRONS disturbing in that vest.

Rios

I watched Airplane with my kids and realised it was basically a bit shit and it had aged really badly albeit there are some great one liners.

Blazing Saddles on the other hand is genius and still as funny as it ever was.

I find it hard work to get kids to sit still and watch a film for the best part of 2 hours, so generally don't bother with it. Are they missing out? Maybe, maybe not.

I watched Oliver Twist, the 2005 Roman Polanski adaption, by far the best one. Classic film.

I let her watch airplane with me when she was about 7 and forgot about some of the more 'adult' references, which she bloody asked me about for days and proudly told her mum next day that a woman showed her boobies in the film.

The boy loved die hard too. He's also 11.

Been educating him with 80s and 90s classic action films.

A little Christmas game for you all. See if you can watch more than 15 minutes of a 2016 film on Prime called Christmas Eve starring Patrick Stewart, amongst other ex 'famous 'actors. I rarely turn off a film after 15 mins but it's already top of my list for the worst Christmas film of all time. Makes the Santa Clause look like Citizen Kane!
