Looks like no one seems to know their role any more, where to play, where to expect his team mates to be, what to do with the ball. A team of homogenous uncommunicative robots.

Brentford won't be easy - at all, especially with the distraction of the planned boycott. I know it's against the owners and not the squad/team, so it may be worth a slightly different approach - perhaps a protest march then 90 minutes of "Nuno's Claret & Blue army" to emphasise early doors where the support lies, and for whom?
That's alright then. We pathetically lost the game without a whimper but we 'WON' the post match press conference. Irons!

A quick learning curve for Nuno who was understandably expecting a lot better from him. He won't tolerate that level of "effort" for too long.

It was as equally defensive as it was today and Arsenal managed to get 1 of their players sent off that day as well. And none of us ripped that game plan apart like some are today.
Yes I fucking did. Fucking disgusting that we didn't lay a glove on them for 30 minutes after the red card in that game as well.

That said, would like to see Marshall against lesser opposition. It's quite a task to be thrown on against Saliba and Gabriel in your first game. Those two are very good.

I don't predict line ups, I leave that to the geeks and anoraks on here.

Yeah, really interesting that he mentioned a couple of times the lack of mobility upfront - and how Marshall at least gives him that.

I think we have a huge problem at CF. I don't rate Fullkrug one bit and he looks like a bit of a dud right now. He's slow and not anywhere near as strong as he needs to be for the Premier League. He's also missed two relatively easy chances, by Premier League standards, in the last two games: instances where he didn't even get a free shot in the box (v Everton) or header from five yards (v Arsenal) on target. Everybody misses chances. But if we pay £27m for a striker, you've got to expect that one of those goes in. That's the bread and butter of a forward. Antonio scores that header.

Wilson looks the best of the bunch. But he's almost 34, slowing down and his body won't get him through the season without problems. I still think he has to start.

Marshall is young and raw - but far more mobile and can press. But he needs to bulk up. As Fullkrug is finding out, the Premier League is awash with big fucker defenders who will dominate you physically - and many of them are more mobile these days.

Nuno must be tempted to find a striker on loan in January.

So no apology then. just excuses…..Bodes well!

first thing he should have done is apologize for such a pathetic performance.

At then end of the day it’s 11 men against 11 men, I’m pretty sure they have to put their trousers on one leg at a time too.

Just watched Nuno’s bbc website interview
He is realistic about how much work is needed & think he said 7 players are away for internationals so he has a fair group to work with for the next fortnight
Whether he can make a silk purse out of the sows ear of our squad is another matter.
Has to start with better defending & being harder to beat
Whether he can manufacture more threatening attacking options than just Bowen is problematic
There are no nailed on other relegation certainties as in previous seasons so he has a MASSIVE job

The big red flag I'm getting with Nuno is Fullkrug.

We have to wipe our mouth and get rid in January, he's not happening, surely anyone can see that, he's 32 FFS.
What is it with these managers that can't see the bleeding obvious and carry on with their pets.

Anyway as someone else said - he's only had 9 days. Get his own team in and beat Brentford.

No because under the circumstances he didn't have much of a chance against a supremely superior opposition currently flying high in both the League and Europe with a settled side and Staff well versed in their quality. Whereas we had a new manager without a single member of his own staff to work with properly for just 7 days and even less Training sessions to get his ideas across fully to work on a Squad mostly full of wank and only some quality. That coupled with the fact most of the Squad is brand new to him not knowing exactly what they are or aren't capable of.

Perspective and context is what's needed today, not demanding a lot more than is realistically possible under the circumstances. They'll be plenty of other opportunities in the future to cսnt Nuno off if he produces that when he actually has his own Staff and proper knowledge of what this Squad is capable of.

A positive for me is that once again he gave Potts some game time and he gave Marshall a run-out.

Previous manager had no time for our youngsters.

Let's hope this continues.

Are the happy clappers the ones not going into a meltdown?

I'm not positive about the game at all. We didn't do much right other then keep the score respectable. But looking at the bigger picture there were enough positives from mondays game to shrug this one off and move on.
