Anxiety/depression
"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?
"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

"67 - interesting comment about feeling better in lockdown. Maybe it was a bit of a leveller, everyone in the same boat. You only have to go on social media to see ‘what brilliant lives’ people have. You don’t hear about their problems. Until we have a lockdown …."

Re: Anxiety/depression
"Thanks gents. I started doing this sort of work about November 19. There was supposed to be a 5 year spending period for Network tax year 19/20 but because nothing much is manufactured in this country for the railway the uncertainty of what duties would be paid over those 5 years all the work dried up .I got a job for and agency at Tesco distribution centre in Purfleet. I was in a bad way all through the winter but when the lockdown started in March for some reason I felt better. Its 18 month since I got the coping thing going on and I worked it out a couple of nights ago its the place itself its a shambles compared to Tesco and its freaking me out, I have an interview Lidl warehouse Edmonton Green which a brand new on the first of 1st September,"

"67 - Hope you're ok mate. Remember, you're only human mate and it's sods law that mistakes tend to happen in batches. I'm sure your employers know your true value and put this down to having a bad day. Keep your chin up."

"Pentonville, I’m talking 6 years ago now and it was definitely depression according to the quack at the secure unit I was in for 3 weeks I ended up on meds for 18 months and then was weaned off them and apart from a bit of a wobble 2 years ago no problems"

Re: Anxiety/depression
"Mace66.Very true I do the same and well done Jon the first step is the hardest one to take I had a relapses last week with the coping /panic thing a pallet of goods fell over and I restacked it and because I was in a state I put the wrong label on it and it got sent to the wrong destination . When I found out what I had done the next night my head went and I fucked another one up and picked up pallets instead of cages. They have been good with me and put me on stuff that I cannot fuck up. I need to keep this job for another 3 months and both my kids will come over they have their British passport and they can work and then we pay £3200 for my wife indefinite leave to remain which means she can work. Which will be great for me to be close to my family at last. Working overseas has it benefits but missing birthdays and watching them grow up is not one of them On the railway front NR jobs for the boys. I 2 applications in with Balfours. An agent contacted about Indian High speed railway for L&T another agent in middle east about work there(They money is being spent now the pandemic is going away), The one I applied for that I really want is 29k a year for Stockport council rail manger for building a new tram"
Re: Anxiety/depression
Good luck Jon It’s all well and good doing the small things but depression can be so crippling that even them things seem impossible to do. Hopefully it’s all in the past but I’ve been in such a state that getting out of bed is like mission impossible. Laying there calculating the absolute latest time I’d need to get up to get to work on time. Then you chop a bit off and decide you won’t bother with a shower … or a shave …. all to lay in the safety of your pit for a few extra minutes. Horrible horrible way to be but people need to Know it’s not just them on their own that’s when having someone to talk to helps otherwise it’s and endless spiral
Re: Anxiety/depression
Hi all thanks for the messages of support. Got first counselling session on Monday and just making the first step has helped. Going to be a long road. Already doing little things and opened up to some more friends. Cheers.

Re: Anxiety/depression
"Hope your appointment went well Jon, respect for realising you needed some help and seeking it. You'll only get better from this day forward, it can take time to get there, but as a West Ham fan your well used to waiting for success !! Take care, and I mean that, make sure you do the small things that make us feel good. I used to really struggle with self care, washing my teeth or having a shower were a constant struggle every morning. Now I get a positive start to my the day by just achieving this small thing. I leave my bath towel out and ready the night before, and get up and go straight in and do I it for me. if you ever need to reach out please feel free to drop me a line."

Re: Anxiety/depression
I have a docs appointment tomorrow about this very issue. Crept up on me during COVID. Live on my own. Lonely and got other health issues. Didn’t see the signs but having answered the questions I am showing all the signs. I am glad I have taken the first step. It is hard.

Re: Anxiety/depression
"I hope he is OK. Its so sad that this still happens when we are all so much more aware of mental health. I'm currently being proper railroaded by my ex and the more angry I get and threatening the more it puts her in the right. Mentally that's draining. However, the point is I've been low before and I realise how good mates on here and at west ham in general. It's in our DNA. So whatever the shit, turn to a hammer Steve. I've made a vow to stop arguing with anyone even if I think I'm right. Life is too short. In a way this thread has taught me that. I can't be making threats on one thread and then trying to be empathetic on another. Crossed hammer was right in that one. Steve the hammer. Ur never alone. None of us are. Hope ur well 67. New season nearly here. Optimism!"

"The below exchange doesn’t make sense to me and it really not helpful, whatever the background is. I’m done with this shit now, grown men not able to grow up. What is the point of this thread if it just becomes another place for the multiple troll cunts on here."
