Anxiety/depression
"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?

Re: Anxiety/depression
"Well after I’d say after 6 months we have finally been able to get somewhere with getting my daughter seen by the appropriate people… been an absolute torturous few months with whacking heads against red tape and NHS road blocks at every turn. With her being out of sight (not out of mind) does not help the matter but we’ve got to abide by her independent choice… not out the woods by a long way but a chink of light is there… and we will fight all the way for her. Not the only one in the same boat… loads of my mates kids in the same boat.. self harming, suicidal thoughts, real cries for help since Lockdown etc… Helped big time on Saturday… Sam Fender in concert… spit of me and the Dying Light… that Northern Monkey lad is better (and cheaper) than any psychiatrist. Keep strong people for both yourself and your loved ones… Sam Fender – The Dying Light This town is a world of waifs and strays Comedy giants, penniless heroes Dead men at the bar, I've drank with them all Through misadventure and drag But I'm alone here Even though I'm physically not And those dead boys are always there There's more every year Maybe I could use a hand I must admit I'm out of bright Ideas to keep the hell at bay Distractions only last a day The night is so impossible It haunts the few who dare to look Its marks are so hereditary I'm terrified of having kids But I'm damned if I give up tonight I must repel the dying light For Mom and Dad and all my pals For all the ones who didn't make The night"

Re: Anxiety/depression
"Ted , I cold Turkeyed from a large Heroin / Diconal / Methadone habit 30 years ago ( in my Piccadilly street days ) it took 7 weeks using Rohypnol then tapered that down & off , not pleasant at all but the price you pay for taking the strongest Opiates around . Mate as long as you can sleep you can get through it & your body replenishes itself . I too have Cirrohsis but it seems manageable & I still drink from time to time if I’m in good company munching on Milk Thistle & ALA & aspirins . Good luck & also best wishes to all fellow Hammers struggling , special mention to Irish ⚒"

Re: Anxiety/depression
Cheers Jim much appreciated I'm taking my time but I'm determined to do it also GP's should tell patience of the addictive possibilities that accompany these opiates ! I tried cold turkey a while back without success but my god it was horrid ! Thanks again.
Re: Anxiety/depression
"Ted, as someone that for a period had a dependency on painkillers, nothing anywhere near as strong as Fentanyl just over the counter stuff, I can only wish you all the best with the tapering down. Coming off any form of opiate is no joke and can be incredibly painful and hard so I wish you all the strength and luck in the world mate. Just remember to take it easy and give your body time to rebalance and dont try and rush it."

"Can I just add - as someone who has no real handle on the issues on this thread - my hope and best wishes? It's difficult to know how to express (I suspect) feelings, but most (I think all) of us are behind you, and you are West Ham, so you're one of us, whatever. Strength."

Re: Anxiety/depression
Sorry to hear this Irish you're obviously going through a bad time and hope things improve for you ! this thread is the place to let it all out without having to be macho. As said before I've got Cirrhosis and my weight loss of late has been a concern going from a decent 12st 10lbs 2 years ago to 9st 10lbs my Consultant's attitude is shit happens and not a lot they can do although they do carry out scans every 6 months and take bloods and thankfully nothing sinister has shown up. I also have been on Fentanyl 75 mg patches for a few years for prolapsed discs and I'm sure that they're doing more harm than good so I'm at present with just telephone help from my GP tapering off them I'm down to 50mg but it's not easy I'm hoping to start on 25mg on Friday ! Hope things improve for all on here going through shit.

Re: Anxiety/depression
"Just gathering myself for the 7 days ahead. I'd a horrible time last week with some pretty frightening medical news. But you know how it is, chin up, suck it up and keep going macho style. I guess I'm just fucking sick of constantly getting progressively shittier and shitter news everytime I see a Doctor / get a scan/results etc. But we shall persevere. Enjoyed the three points from the boys today. IRONS."
