"Jim - You know how a judge a good show? It's when you can't wait until you watch the next episode. but with this I'm in no hurry. But yes, will stick with it just on the basis that so many people can't be wrong. I was just expecting something better though, so far.. Shows can be very good/interesting without loads of action btw..and I've seen plenty of them."

"Manuel, just save your over riding view of it until you have finished it. A lot of the elements you may consider slightly tedious at these early stages are just setting the scene for later. Its not all action all of the time but its also not meant to be, if you want that then something like Sons Of Anarchy is more your bag (also brilliant)."

"Yea, not saying it's crap and I'm sure it will get better, but the best show ever?? There was a reason why it took me so long to get around to it."

"I wouldn't say Breaking Bad is average. More like a series of highs and lows. Most of the characters are great but White's whiny young sidekick and his boring family take up way too much screen time and there's a lot of tedium spread throughout those 60+ hours, not just at the start, although as said it does improve with the appearance of Gus and Mike."

"Breaking Bad does get so much better, becomes very dark as the seasons clock up and the character development of Walter White is sublime. The latter additions of characters such as Gus Fring and Mike is first class. Gomorrah is one of the best things I;ve ever watched. The latest, 4th season, was the best yet and im just grateful that it is slated for a 5th."

"I FINALLY got around to starting Breaking Bad, considering many say it's the best show ever, I really do hope it gets a lot better, as I'm 5 episodes in and it is extremely average?"

Browno22 11:45 Sun Jul 14 Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls Been watching Gomorrah. Fucking amazing viewing. Can't beleive I waited so long. Midway through season 2. Gennaro has grown on me. However I really hate Ciro since I have become convinced he is actually Simone Zaza ___ hahah lucky you. I wish i could erase and rewind and start it all over again!

"I hadn't been arsed to watch it as its all in Italian so sub titles but Gomorrah is superb. Another superb series that takes a bit to get into is the Handmaids tale, up to season 3, very dark and very well made, often seems to slow right down, then all of a sudden it throws something in that makes you sit up and go WTF! As you just didn't see coming."

"Grumpster 12:07 Tue Jun 25 Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls Also a good call with My Name is Earl, a brilliant programme and was gutted when they cancelled it after a cliff hanger :o( I read something about this a while back, the writers were given the ok by Fox to end the series with a “to be continued” before it was cancelled. From what the writers had in mind the Father of Joys baby was supposed to have been a celebrity comedian or musician depending on who they get to play the part of themselves. The whole karma list thing was to end with someone doing a nice thing for Earl who finds out he was a part of this persons karma list. This person got the idea of the list from another person who was also doing a karma list and they got the idea from another person and so on and so on. He now realises people are doing good things for each other all over America and so this was the time for him to finish his list. (If this makes sense!?)"

"Amazon Prime has all 4 seasons of The last man on earth with Will Forte and Kristen Schall (out of flight of the conchords). I binged through this in about a week. Fucking hilarious programme. Again, it was cancelled before there was a proper conclusion and it was left on a cliffhanger"

"Martin and Grumpster Last night I watched the episode where the hapless Dewy Crowe is busted out of prison and finds himself at the mercy of a crooked prison medic. Don't want to serve up any major spoilers for anyone, but that line: ""You mean I had four kidneys??""... ...Well I absolutely lost it."
