In fairness to Lingard he did well when here but not one player who Moyes brought in is anything like Lingard so it shows what a lack of for planning there is. I could have half understood it if for instance he had brought in Adama Traoré from Wolves and tried to turn him into a striker. Liverpool are struggling big time because of players out of form, getting older, maybe Klopp not buying the right player to replace those who fitted perfectly into his philosophy. However I do agree that you can't just sit back with 10 men behind the ball and win matches by counter attacking all the time. For me Moyes two years ago had the players at their peak to play a counter attacking game, and Lingard fitted into that. Whether he then decided to try and play a more possession based and attacking game I don't know but the players he brought in suggested that because Paqueta and Scamacca are not players who fit into a counter attacking philosophy. However he is trying to play his old way with the players he has bought which just doesn't work. I could half have accepted if he had brought in similar players to what he already had but he has totally confused himself with his signings."
