Re: Moyes Out
That admission of his about Alvarez is mental. That should be the final nail in his already nailed up and buried coffin.

"Russ of the BML, Happy New Year mate. Can you explain that stat post of yours in more detail, I am really struggling with it."
Re: Moyes Out
"factory seconds 3:31 Mon Jan 16 Agree with your sentiment in a bloody minded kind of way but we HAVE to win this one to have any chance it really is a huge game. Ideally Moyes is gone before it, but right now it looks like he will be in charge. Unfortunately, given our owners we all know that a shock win means prolonging the agony. If theyre willing to give him this game theyll give him more in the belief that we've turned a corner and that will be relegation suicide"
Re: Moyes Out
"Sir Alf 5:36 Mon Jan 16 Agreed. For me he spent far to long chasing players who didn't want to come or who were stringing him along. Let's say months wasted on Lingard, Broja and Onana for instance. Suddenly he goes out and buys players who are totally and utterly different in style to those he was chasing for half a year or more, a sur sign of desperation. In fairness to Lingard he did well when here but not one player who Moyes brought in is anything like Lingard so it shows what a lack of for planning there is. I could have half understood it if for instance he had brought in Adama Traoré from Wolves and tried to turn him into a striker. Just an example of course, I'm not suggesting he should have of course, but at least it would have had some resemblance to what he was getting from Antonio."

Re: Moyes Out
He paid £27 million for Fellani when he was at Man U 2013/14. It just makes me wonder if he has much say in players we have bought

Re: Moyes Out
"Zico 2:33 Mon Jan 16 Your point about trying to play to his existing/old tactics and system with new players not recruited to play that way is what many of us agree with. A real lack of ""joined up thinking""ù from owners, manager, recruitment and tactical coaches. We look like a team with an identity crisis. It's neither one thing or another. Moyes went out of his depth once he had to change what had been working for a season and a bit. Closed mindedness, bloody minded, arrogance borne of ignorance and general insecurity or simply too old to learn? He has entrenched and you can see how sensitive he is to the truth in his interviews. His explanations are bizarre and he continually seems to be saying ""I know it's shit but it wasn't last season ( it was ) and tge season before so you should all shut up and be grateful I'm the West Ham manager""ù !"

"factory seconds 3:31 Mon Jan 16 It's absolutely fucking incredible. We were 8n desperate, dire need of attacking reinforcements in Jan, and he's turned down what is now, a year later, looking like a world class striker, because, in his words, 'Micky Antonio was doing well'. I genuinely want us to lose against Everton, as we have to sack this cսnt. I think anyone wanting us to win doesn't have the clubs best interests at heart. We need him gone for our long term future."

Re: Moyes Out
"West Ham have scored 15 goals in 19 games this season. Only one team has scored less. And Moyes still plays one up front and the same formation. West Ham have won 4 games from 19 this season. Only 2 teams have less. The current bottom 2. But they have all lost less games than West Ham. Only 1 team in the league has lost more than West Ham. West Ham have taken 15 points from a possible 57. Since 1st December 2022 we played 25 PL games and won 8, drew 6 and lost 11. Taking 30 points from a possible 75. So since 1st December West Ham's points tally is 45 points from a possible 132. On top of that since 1st December have, generally, played slow, predictable and negative tactics and performances. Yet, Moyes is still in a job. Why? We have gone from potential CL qualification and Europa League to relegation fodder. And Moyes is still in a job? Does our board set targets ranging from European qualification and a good cup run to avoiding relegation? Based on the above stats and the football that is being turned out there is only one reason why Moyes is still in a job. Utter incompetence."

Re: Moyes Out
"Agreed zico. They could at least swap wings a bit during the game to mix it up. I saw a stat over the weekend that we top the Premier League table for crosses, but are the only team not to score from one!"
Re: Moyes Out
"Swiss - Yep,. That's what 15 goals a season or so and that's what made Soucek look good! I still don't understand clubs though, and it's not just us, who can have a lump like Scamacca up front and still play wide men on the wrong side. Everyone knows what Bowen is going to do now, and that's coming inside onto his good foot. How about trying him on the left and getting crosses in, same with Benrahma. Must be so frustrating for Scamacca to see these wide men cut inside and either lose possession or hit a hopeful shot. Plus of course with Creswell's legs gone he isn't getting up the line top deliver as manty crosses as he used to. Really don't understand this modern way of playing wingers on opposite sides unless you are Alan Devonshire who could do both."
Re: Moyes Out
"Liverpool are having similar problems to us Alexander Arnold and Robertson are both out of form They lost Mane and Jota is injured (and not as good) Salah has stopped scoring worldies Firmino is unhappy (and older) Their central defensive pairing is unsettled due to injuries Their midfield is similarly unsettled and he doesn't know his best combination They are however starting from a place some 20 points above us and have a better manager so while I'm not sure they'll be in the mix for the top 4 they will still have what would be, by our standards, a decent season."

Re: Moyes Out
"In all fairness to Sullivan (and it's really not often I use that phrase!), most Premier League and Championship football owners are not particularly nice folk. I've met a few down the years, for my sins, and they tend to be rather privileged, money-oriented folk who live in a cash-rich bubble that means they're distant from the everyday lives and concerns of most fans. Some deny this vehemently, while still exhibiting all such traits. Ask most fans what they think of their club's owners, and you'll get similar replies. We're not unusual. Imagine what Villa made of Doug Ellis and Randy Lerner, for example. Etc etc."

Re: Moyes Out
Sullivan had Benitez contract drawn ready to sign before he got the call from RM so it will be him.
Re: Moyes Out
"Alf - The only bit I would disagree with a tad is ""Klopp/ Pep approach is now the way to win matches"". Liverpool are struggling big time because of players out of form, getting older, maybe Klopp not buying the right player to replace those who fitted perfectly into his philosophy. However I do agree that you can't just sit back with 10 men behind the ball and win matches by counter attacking all the time. For me Moyes two years ago had the players at their peak to play a counter attacking game, and Lingard fitted into that. Whether he then decided to try and play a more possession based and attacking game I don't know but the players he brought in suggested that because Paqueta and Scamacca are not players who fit into a counter attacking philosophy. However he is trying to play his old way with the players he has bought which just doesn't work. I could half have accepted if he had brought in similar players to what he already had but he has totally confused himself with his signings."
Re: Moyes Out
"""òNot run like a circus anymore' It's run a lot worse than any circus I have ever been to. No planning, no objectives, people employed in the wrong positions with no previous experience. Tin pot ""òwe will do it on the cheap' attitude. The mentality is all wrong and there's no sign of any ambition, or ideas. The inability to act when 99.9% of the fan base has called it for months now tells us everything we need to know. They have stripped this club bare and it's unrecognisable, as someone else pointed out it's only the club colours we have left."
