I really like the new forum. Modernising it was long overdue as the old forum was frankly an embarrassment in terms of look and feel.

I don’t like all the images as well.
but again, fair play for doing it. And the majority seem to prefer it this way.Agree with the usernames, you now have to have a 'proper' look to see who the post is from, but hey..Would something like this be better?

I think so but not my call, maybe make the last poster name on the main forum page slightly larger too.

It's growing on me. Pleasantly.
Would it be possible to simplify the process of sending WHOmail? I hesitate to send this comment because I don't have the energy to get drawn into a long conversation about it, but I don't think it needs to be that cluttered.

We can get you access to the 'Lab' account which does exist with your old posts, and then see if we can move the posts you've done as Trilby across to that account.

Re: New WHO | Site Feedback
stubbo and the others have done a great job. Very painless to the user anyway. Well done all.
I do miss the old site though. It was very very simple, which is why I liked it.
For a 'modern' site this isn't too bad, definitely seen a lot worse but like all new things takes some getting used to.

What would "becoming like UTJ" look like?
Currently just trying to get the thing working, answering questions about decisions taken, and trying to make it a good experience for as many people as possible.
I'm like the 'tech guy' in all this. No desire to become invovled in the forum politics, content moderation etc. There's established guys for all of that. Just wanted the thing to live on.

Come On You Irons" wrote: ↑10 Sep 2024, 08:19 I notice the 'football' and 'non-football' sub-forums have been done away with. Any particular reason for that?
Because there isn't a good way with the technology of then having them all show in a single list (whilst still having their own lists separately). So the choice was between fragmenting the forum (and you have to navigate to different section to check for new content, post in the right place, etc), or having it all one place.
We went with the latter as it keeps us all aware of it all, and also reduces the moderator overhead of having to direct posters and move posts to the 'right' place all the time.

It runs smoothly and doesn't take an age to load, you can quote other posters, have an avatar and post pictures. Nice to see WHO has finally joined the 21st century.

Re: New WHO | Site Feedback
Getting used to it, but as Vinny said at the end of Snatch "its been emotional" Or was it lock stock?
What's with the like and been liked thing? WTF, And how many times you have "been liked " or "has liked" what others have posted! Can we have a "DONT LIKE" or a cսnt off as well please.............
Seriously though, who gives fuck about being liked or not? this is WHO FFS.

- WIPE KNOB ON SCREEN - if something isn't working, and is technology related. Usually resolves...otherwise turn it off and on.
And it all that fails. Try following the above using the COMMAND button instead of CTRL as you're probably using a Mac.
