One things for sure, Trump will do what makes sense and what’s best for the USA.
Poor Goose,
I’d keep an eye on Chinese factory output if I were you. Not looking good, reports of civil unrest and layoffs are already happening across China.
China has quietly removed some Tariffs too and are now willing to negotiate, although don’t expect things to get ironed out over night. I’d expect more production to be moved away from China and in to other countries.
People are sick of the way China cheats with IP theft and Dumping and currency manipulation. China plays dirty and now is a good time to get away from all their u fair trade tactics. It makes sense because it’s cheaper with already established supply chains that are incredibly complex. They aren’t moving their manufacturing from China or India to the US, it’s just not happening.
What moves and to where remains to be seen. But manufacturing in the US will explode, doubtful it will be for manufacturing kids toys and small ticket items. However Tech, Chips, Technology, Auto, pharma, steel, shipbuilding will all see a renaissance in the USA, amongst others.
One things for sure the US will manufacture any product considered a necessity for National security interests. No more supply chain threats for essentials.
China will have to restructure its economy something they don’t want to do. So we will see how it all shoes out but Trump holds the cards.
Something like 50% of US defence systems & infrastructure uses chips from China. Good luck with that.
As I showed you previously, you cannot make semiconductors without China. The US doesn’t have the REEs or the processing capability. Nobody has anywhere near the scale required outside of China.
Same with pharmaceuticals, about 80% of the active ingredients come from China.
You’re living in a dreamland.

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)
Australian election yesterday almost mirrored what happened in Canada!
A couple of months ago the center right opposition looking good to win, then all the Trump shenanigans and the center left win comfortably with the leader of the opposition losing his seat.
How much Trump played a part is debatable, but one side distanced themselves from his type of policy’s and the other suggested we should consider similar?????
Should be said that Australias version of Labour (Labor here) is very different to Sir Keir and co!!!! Similar name only really who are more center than left.

But true... look it up Nutsack.
Saying so desperate is a cop out. A lot in that list are already in the states and are just expanding as they would've done whoever was in the White House.
All you ever do is attribute the positives to Trump and the negatives to Biden without understanding any of the real reasons behind them, but the US economy was running better than most countries around the world GDP up 2.4%. Lets see what it looks like after the trade war has died down and we'll see who the trade winners are.

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)
Interesting that the Canadian government was struggling coming into the election
The opposition ends up aligned with Trump so Carney comes back from the dead & wins
Similar in Australia where the sitting Labor govt was floundering until Dutton embraced Trump … Labor wins in a landslide & Dutton as opposition leader loses his seat
Lets see where we are in a few weeks when the reduction of shipments from China sees US warehouses & distribution centres start laying off staff.

fucking Bozo! Ag ag ag!A list of ‘investments’ which were by and large planned before Trump took charge. Brilliant. Reminds me of the conservatives and their new hospitals which weren’t actually new.
All of which will cost more in borrowing thanks to Trump.
whereas the first real opportunity to move manufacturing to the US by one the globes biggest manufacturers…….. and they said no. There’s a reason all of these companies offshore this stuff, and tariffs doesn’t change that.
Tariffs that were such a great idea that the markets shit their pants and forced Trump to make an embarrassing U-turn. Let me know when the US starts making iPhones like Trump said they would.

Saying all that, there's no doubt that Labour or the Tories will find a way to sneak back in next time.
The way I see it is that it’s only gonna get a lot worse under Labour, the writing is on the wall, Reform will be next up. Although they will have their work cut out for them. Perhaps things getting worse is what’s needed to get the change that you all need.
One things for certain, the country is on the wrong track and reform is needed. Took a minute but looks like the country is finally waking up!
