FIFA Club World Cup

Post Fauxstralian »

More pointless football from FIFA which finishes within a month of the next Premier League season starting
On something called DAZN if you are interested… supposedly free if you register but presumably will be hounded for a paid subscription

No network was interested in taking this … so in a clear field DAZN offered $1bn (ONE BILLION DOLLARS)
In an unrelated transaction the Saudi investment fund then took a 10% interest in DAZN for $1bn.
Shortly after FIFA awarded Saudi Arabia the 2034 World Cup

Oxsaw,

Every competition has to start somewhere. Look at how the Brazilians have taken to this comp, it’s like it means the world to them. The Euro sides will start taking it more seriously now it’s the knock-outs.

FIFA fucked up by having the tourney in the US. Too many empty stadiums, and blistering heat.

And make no mistake, if we somehow ended up in it and miraculously won the thing, the celebrations would completely dwarf those of winning the Conference.

This is NOT a prestigious trophy/competition. It's not even a serious competition, football-wise. Anyone who has the slightest notion that it is either needs to give their head a wobble.

It's clearly an attempt to monetise pre-season friendlies and fill a gap in TV schedules that the European summer break brings.

It's also the most blatant and public brown envelope you are ever likely to see - if you take your "but it's more football...on my (MY) TV!" head out of your arse. You've clearly named your price.

But, hey-ho, only money talks these days and the players may well have negotiated decent enough personal bonuses for taking part - we're obviously also turning a profit to perform a similar function in our lower budget US sojourn later this CLOSED season.

Bayern v Boca was a great game.

Kane popped up with an important goal…Olise nicked the winner.

The South American teams are quite impressive, I must say.

Great comp so far. Well done FIFA 👏🏿

Watching the England U19s in the Euros on Beeb iPlayer is much more entertaining. Currently drawing with Germany 5-5 after being 5-1 down!

No Bus parking allowed here! 🚚🚫

Representing West Ham in the Squad is the Reserve Keeper Herrick.

Was reading that FIFA has a relationship with one of the local colleges / universities
Students were offered 4 free seats if they bought ONE for the equivalent of £14.70
So couldn’t shift them at less than £3 each

Game was played in my home town. FIFA had ticket prices around $300. Sales were so bad they slashed them to $20 with an extra 4 tickets and still came up that short. I think they had double that for a preseason game against Newcastle two years ago at the same venue. Not sure I'd turn up for one of these games if they paid me $300.
You’d be a proper Chelsea fan if you paid £300 to watch them. Only cunts do that, which sums up Chelsea fans precisely.
