FIFA Club World Cup

Post Fauxstralian »

More pointless football from FIFA which finishes within a month of the next Premier League season starting
On something called DAZN if you are interested… supposedly free if you register but presumably will be hounded for a paid subscription

No network was interested in taking this … so in a clear field DAZN offered $1bn (ONE BILLION DOLLARS)
In an unrelated transaction the Saudi investment fund then took a 10% interest in DAZN for $1bn.
Shortly after FIFA awarded Saudi Arabia the 2034 World Cup

Chelsea mate messaged me to tell me how amazing his team are. Same. Chelsea fan hasn’t show any interest for the last few years when they’ve been shit.

Shit football club, wanker fans. I’ll always hate them more than Spurs.

I see the FIFA boss has called this a massive success and it's the WORLDS most successful club competition🤷‍♂️ Not sure about that, some games had only a handful of fans but reckon it's here to stay and will be heavily promoted by them, obviously some serious cash in the brown paper bags🤣.

Club World Cup: Gianni Infantino says tournament is the 'most successful' club competition in the world - BBC Sport

The added time in the Real/Dortmund game is entertaining!!!! world class goals, red/yellow cards, penalty, one of the best saves you will see at the death, just a pity Dortmund couldn't do it 😑

2 Red cards for PSG in the other game but they still beat Bayern, hope they stuff Madrid next up.

Hmm looks a simultaneous action to me and Donnarummma clearly goes for the ball he's entitled to go for. Just think it's 1 of those unfortunate accidents that rarely happens in the game. Terrible bad luck for Musiala though, ankle injuries are a right cսnt to repair with Ashton springing immediately to mind.

I thought he took him before the ball thought it was a penalty at first.. I see Anthony Taylor made a cսnt of himself for most of the game.

Heads, maybe even cervixes, will surely roll.

Man City going out instead of playing on til mid July might not be a bad thing if they want to challenge Liverpool again. Players need two more weeks sitting by a pool rather than more games in blazing heat
Premier League starts Aug 15 & goes on into next summers bloated World Cup

Natalie Sawyer nails it on TS. Just a pointless greedy nonsense mimic tournament that only serves the purpose of keeping the filthy rich even richer. 🤑

Despise what the game has been allowed to become. How they give the likes of Chelsea such a lucrative leg up fucks me right off. £14M+ they're apparently raking in from this. 💩

Was reading that Qatar are talking to FIFA about hosting this in 2029
Of course it would be played in the winter
Fine , as long as the English teams fulfill their premier league fixtures at the same time

Every competition has to start somewhere. Look at how the Brazilians have taken to this comp, it’s like it means the world to them. The Euro sides will start taking it more seriously now it’s the knock-outs.

FIFA fucked up by having the tourney in the US. Too many empty stadiums, and blistering heat.

And make no mistake, if we somehow ended up in it and miraculously won the thing, the celebrations would completely dwarf those of winning the Conference.
"Don't be a tart. No chance of us ever entering this farce - Sullivan would never cough up for the transport."
The net result would be a profit, even after transport, so Sulli would be all over it.  Just like he is with the meaningless Summer Series at the end of July.
But it's really a moot point as there is no way he will ever give us a squad that would get anywhere near the quality that is needed to get an invite.

Maybe the South Americans take it more seriously due to the money on offer, also they probably want to prove they are as good if not better then the Europeans as they must get fed up off hearing about how great the premiership and champions league are.

And stop being led by the nose/smell of money; this is a direct disrespect of the downtime that (European) national leagues have built into their schedules.

The season is closed for a very valid reason that has evolved over about 100 years - if it wasn't regarded as a necessary break it would have long been eradicated from the game over the years from the grass-roots up.

It's blatant media/suits marketing at the expense of the players involved.
