Back end of last season & beginning of this I would say Emerson has been amongst our best players. He’s one of the few who actually is positive on the ball. Defensively he still has his problems.

Well the Phillips that we saw before his injury and transfer to City. The risk is that Phillips is going to break down a week into his loan but his quality is far superior to Soucek who has the least touches of any midfielder in the division."

"No idea if there is any solid truth in the Phillip's and Smith-Rowe rumours but it would make sense to get some Brits in and both of these players would strengthen the squad. Phillip's has never fitted Peps style and has looked rusty. He could be a really good addition if he gets regular game time and stays fit. You dont want another sick note like Andy Carroll or Kieran Dyer. Smith-Rowe is a solid player, scores the odd goal, can be in and out of games but is attack minded. Had a decent spell in their first team but now barely plays."
