"Fuck me, Phillips, Broja, Smith-Rowe. A collection of turds that their clubs can't flush, injured, no game time, shit. Where's that scarf bothering cսnt? Isn't he supposed to be stopping the abject waste of space Moyes from wasting more fucking money? What a load of old shit."

"As I think it was Manuel said - if Philips is coming , it’s to play , reckon he will have that in writing from Moyes . Current wages reportedly 175k a week ! Are we matching that or close to it ? Too rich for me , ludicrous that a defensive player would be the top earner at our club or any club ."

Emerson has been outstanding. I'm surprised any west ham United supporters Doubt it . He's not Julian dicks but he's been worth every penny the club paid for him .

"I’ve always thought Emerson could play even at the beginning when he got off to his slow start. I agree with Goose he’s been one of our better players and has come good. He always puts in a shift and appears to be enjoying his time here. Definitely a starter and offers a bit going forward too, just unfortunate he is the only one on the left that you can say this about. With a bit of help on the left he’ll do even better."

Back end of last season & beginning of this I would say Emerson has been amongst our best players. He’s one of the few who actually is positive on the ball. Defensively he still has his problems.

"Before this transfer window, we only had 24 out of a possible 25 players registered, of which just 8 are Home Grown, meaning we have 16 out of a total 17 allowed Non-Home Grown players. With Kehrer gone, it means we currently only have room for two Non-Home Grown players in the squad unless they are under 21s. So depending who the club wants to bring in it might be that it can't/won't happen until we know exactly who can be moved on, in terms of Home or non-Home players. Mind you if Vexed is right and ""Moyes only wants british based cloggers"" it is all a bit academic."

"You’d hope so Fraser :-) Soucek in the heart of midfield is one of our biggest issue in terms of being able to keep the ball. The tactics and approach is the wider issue of course but a player that can move and control and pass the ball will even make our attempts to get and keep the ball improve I would wager. Anyway, might all be academic as Phillips may not be coming anyway"

"I know he was injured but not sure what has gone wrong for SMITH-ROWE Obviously a talented player who can pass a ball and play which is something we lack. Could see him combining well with Paqueta, Kudus & Bowen If we shift out the likes of Benrahma I'd rather have him in than someone like Bergwijn Obviously adding to our HOME players helps"

"I’m of the opinion that Phillips is a far superior footballer technically to Tomas Soucek. He can control the ball, has a range of passing and can run, presses well and is strong. Well the Phillips that we saw before his injury and transfer to City. The risk is that Phillips is going to break down a week into his loan but his quality is far superior to Soucek who has the least touches of any midfielder in the division."

"No idea if there is any solid truth in the Phillip's and Smith-Rowe rumours but it would make sense to get some Brits in and both of these players would strengthen the squad. Phillip's has never fitted Peps style and has looked rusty. He could be a really good addition if he gets regular game time and stays fit. You dont want another sick note like Andy Carroll or Kieran Dyer. Smith-Rowe is a solid player, scores the odd goal, can be in and out of games but is attack minded. Had a decent spell in their first team but now barely plays."

"fraser - You initially state that Phillips doesn't want to move south, without quoting a source, ie you own it, then when it's looking like you have been shown to be wrong you farm it out with I'm just quoting so and so, bad form son :-)"

"""If you are going to do that, might as get a midfielder who is comfortable on the and can progress the ball rather than someone aimlessly running about."" Yeah but Phillips aint that bloke. Marginally better on the ball than the awful Soucek. This would be an absolute turd of a deal. I'd be fucking gone if I was Steidten, whats the point of scouring the world when Moyes only wants british based cloggers that aint good enough for their current team and nobody else fucking wants? Another three years of this shit, fuuuuuuck."

"Phillips can get around the pitch, in the euros while Rice predominantly played as an anchor, Phillips was given license to be everywhere. I think Moyes has wanted either Gallagher or Phillips for a while to fill the same role for us. He will not come in to replace Alvarez or play as a DM alongside him in my opinion. I think Moyes loves what Soucek brings to us but has wanted an upgrade for a while."
