Yep.

Bet the silly myopic bugger & his acolytes think Wall Street and it's institutions will always be there to pick up the tab.

NYC is reliant upon selling debt to function, it’s one of the most indebted cities in the US. About 10% of it’s budget is servicing the debt.
What do you suppose will happen when he starts giving away free shit the city cannot afford?

the rent freeze will eventually mean landlords cannot afford to maintain the property so the quality will go down. Eventually they’ll sell and the availability of rental property will decrease.

I like the idea of free buses, but they’ll end up as mobile homeless shelters.

Let's see the digital ID card stop shit like this:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0mx99ple17o

Coming to a Mini-mart near YOU.

It won't stop the boats and it won't stop the illegals finding ways to work.

The time has come to draw the line and seriously implement a two-pronged attack on the clear cause of the problem:
  1. No immigration of any sort for 12 - 18 months. Just wait in the queue like everybody else.
  2. Get rid of any illegals the instant they're identified. Cut off all communication channels for them until they're out of the country.
The only exceptions to this are state fuck-ups where the authorities have, in a weapons-grade strop, deliberately dragged their heels over situations arising directly from things like Brexit & Windrush which they should be forced to correct with nobody deported for such reasons (unless they're criminals/wrong'uns).

Faux, angry middle aged men?

You need to add women to that sentence.

And it’s in our lifetimes that the country has been allowed, encouraged even, to go to pot, hence that anger. Particularly as legitimate concerns expressed for years have been shouted down and ignored, and now when the situation is untenable those same concerns are all of a sudden legitimate things that need tackling according to our political classes. The same political classes that shut down those concerns for the best part of three decades.

If it was apathetic middle aged men and women, then that really would be time to turn the lights off.

Billy, nope the BBC can’t help themselves you’re right.

They’re like a particularly ‘Right on’ HR department running a public funded broadcasting company. If anyone wanted to look at the crux of what the fucking hell has gone wrong in the last 30 years, then the BBC would be a great starting point.

this is what Rachel from account’s doesn’t seem to understand.
its the people not working (and getting a 4% rise in benefits) that need to be targeted. You can’t just keep taxing working people.

i wonder how many more people will leave the U.K. because of this?

The government is a PR disaster at the moment.

Er, no. KCC have asked that flags not be flown from lamp-posts that will also be carrying Christmas lights. They have said that whilst flags and lights can't go on the same poles due to H&S bollocks, there is no question of forcibly removing the flags.

So that's another thing you've made up today.

I'm more than happy that the only response people who have differing views to mine is (attempted) personal insults, proving that they have no better solution to offer.

The solution though, needs to be fit for purpose, matching what I want now - today - not what someone thinks I should want now or what I wanted 5/25/50 years ago.

On the politics front, the only party talking along those lines is Reform; they're not perfect but have only had a few years to seek that perfection, unlike the existing political parties, who have had decades, or even centuries, to work out what it is the people (voters) really want.

The BBC just can't stop themselves can they.
Been caught red handed deliberately 'doctoring' footage of Trump to make it look like he as ordering his followers to march and create mayhem at the Capitol.
Refund the shitshow, shouldn't have to be forced to pay for such a stinking corrupt organisation.

Thats usually cancelling Christmas in Gammon world isn’t it?

If it was a Labour council you’d be out painting another roundabout
Putting up Christmas lights or funding a care home.

Yep. I can see why that would be an impossible choice for some.

Nope. That's definitely not a thing I'm aware of in the UK that Christmas is cancelled if some lights do not go up for any reason.

What in their running of those makes you think they would make a competent government?
Any news on a costed economic plan?

Taking power away from the state = which, in reality really dictate what happens in the country - will allow Reform to begin to price what solving many issues will cost.

While the state continue to conduct a policy of civil disobedience (that they would never allow the general population to undertake) nothing will change.

It's the unelected bureaucrats who need nailing, but the unions & do-gooders will never allow that to happen, even if their reticence borders on being traitorous.

Reform Councils have proven they can successfully save a shit load of money in a short space of time, whereas Labour have achieved the opposite with taxes set to rise thanks to Reeves incompetency with our finances.

This is a shocking government but the Tories weren't much better.

Both sides of the Uniparty are incompetent, lying charlatans.

The Tories consistently promised to get net migration down to the tens of thousands. They lied and did the opposite (increased it to record levels).

Labour promised not to raise income tax, NI or VAT. They lied and did the opposite.

Labour promised to "smash the gangs". They lied and illegal immigration is at record levels.

Vote Reform.

Safety issue, innit
Reckon we've got 4 more years of pathetic articles like that to sully Reform, Sven (which you'll lap up).

I don't think it's going to work, though.
