Patriotism
A flag should be about pride. About unity. About celebrating who we are. That’s not what’s happening right now. These England flags going up everywhere? That’s not patriotism. That’s marking territory. That’s sending a message. And the message is ugly: “This is ours. You don’t belong here.”That isn’t pride. That’s fear. That’s exclusion. That’s racism dressed up as tradition.Real patriotism doesn’t slam the door in someone’s face. Real patriotism says: we are strong enough, proud enough, confident enough to welcome others in. To share our values — values of fairness, decency, tolerance — the values that have always made Britain worth being proud of.When you turn the flag into a weapon, you betray it. You betray our history. You betray the very idea of Britain.Because the truth is this: our flag should say we belong together. Not you stay out.

Re: Patriotism
Where in Surrey did you exile to?
Assuming you didn't fancy hanging about wherever you were before?
I reckon you're from the Billy Bragg school of pointing fingers from his mansion in the middle of whitesville.

Re: Patriotism
For centuries - millennia even - flags have always been territorial markers or emblems of support.
Why should anyone fear such an item reinforcing that claim?
In England, the English flag should command the respect of all who live in England and the society (singular) it represents.
It needs to be claimed back from the extremists whom the state allowed to appropriate it.
England is not invading England - although perhaps it needs to?
If those flag-flying ideals don't sit well with you, there are plenty of other nations for you to try out for size.

Re: Patriotism
EIS.
What would you consider is a reasonable amount of young men who don't share our culture and who have no legal right to be here be allowed to stay here? And how many hotels near you are occupied by 'new illegal arrivals'.
Not looking for a row, genuinely interested.
