While we are talking about interpretation and injustices the Phillips/Gordon penalty v Newcastle I'm pretty sure if you flipped it around and Gordon is poised to shoot then Phillips sticks his leg between Gordons foot and the ball a penalty would have been awarded as a foul on Gordon so why not a foul on Phillips....

Not sure that I agree on the handball Faux, because judging intent is difficult. Your point about daylight is good one - to me if they have to spend a few minutes drawing the lines and then increasing scale by 400% then really it should stand.

Re: ⚽ Wolves v West Ham - Official Match Thread
There are a whole bunch of laws / interpretations that need sorting as most people have little confidence in what is a penalty or handball these days

To me there should be more concentration on forwards initiating contact (no penalty!) and review of dives via VAR resulting in cards
This idea of 'there was contact so he was entitled to go down' should be replaced with did the contact cause the reaction.
Handball should go back to deliberate handball being penalised and accidental handball being allowed to play on

In the meantime VAR should be restricted to 3 looks at normal speed. If you cant tell then then its not 'clear and obvious'
Offsides with VAR should require daylight between the forward & defender not whose TOE was ahead of whose kneecap

Correction I meant Villa.

Re: ⚽ Wolves v West Ham - Official Match Thread
You mean a bit like Antonio’s disallowed goal against Burnley.

Ball hit his arm accidentally, his arm was tight by his side but the rule says no goal period, even though it would have hit his torso if his arm was outstretched or raised.

As said not a cock up in the slightest just a text book example of the law
Player is offside and in the keepers eyeline . SIMPLE DECISION
Cant believe the HOO-HAA.
Can understand O'Neil thinking its 'not fair' but its correct
The reaction of imbeciles like Ian Wright just show what a dismal pundit he is

As they also say the penalty against us and Emersons disallowed goal were never going to be overturned but both were soft decisions.
I will be on the look out for goals disallowed or pens given next time someone steps on someones toe from a cross or corner

Now Moyes is getting blamed for VAR desions in our favour
we are owed at least 5 in just the 6 months ..

One VAR cock up in out favour is well over due and welcome .

Can't wait till we win a cup and he gets slagged off and people wanting his head for doing so....unless that's been done all ready?

Why don't some of you just donate some money to the Wolves players bonus winning fund to make them and you of course happy today.

Re: ⚽ Wolves v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I think this is one of the things people find most infuriating
Play in a certain way so that you are on top and winning.
Reaction is to STOP doing that and change to a system that hands the initiative to the opposition.

Several examples but can remember being 4-1 up against Brentford after 70 mins with them on their knees and finished.
Spent the last 20 mins cowering in our half, let them score and hung on for the last 10 mins

"The wolves disallowed goal probably sums up what an extremely lucky manager Moyes has become"

I think it sums up Moyes as a manager full stop,

We changed shape and chased the game as we had to and as soon as we grabbed the lead we went from a 3/5 to two banks of 4 and invited pressure which ultimately led to Wolves scoring which on another day is given.

Wolves can feel as equally aggrieved as us to complain about a history of poor VAR decisions going against them...

Grumps, I'm no fan of Moyes but you could argue that he/we've been very unlucky with VAR decisions this season, so it was about time one worked in our favour.

"Good luck to the people who only care about the results, would imagine the majority aren't people who attend the games."

Predominantly from armchair fans from experience when compared to those I speak to who actually go to games home and occasionally away. Another reason why I refer to it as Ceefax Football.

The wolves disallowed goal probably sums up what an extremely lucky manager Moyes has become.

Been 5 or 6 wins when we literally should have been abour 3/4 goals down and have been absolutely battered whilst having no intention of winning then game to then nick some lucky goals and take the points.

Obviously a results business, but fuck me until the lucky late winner it's awful being at the game.

Good luck to the people who only care about the results, would imagine the majority aren't people who attend the games.

As for the wolves goal, the letter of the law is it's offside and tue correct decision, which obviously means it's a rule that needs to be changed as an absolutely ridiculous load of old bollocks and a perfectly good goal chalked off for nothing more than more moyes luck.

Fuck em though as emerson's goal should have stood.

Re: ⚽ Wolves v West Ham - Official Match Thread
To sum it up for me personally, I just want to enjoy watching my Football again.

All this Moyes obsession with results being the be all and end all is nothing more than an approach of what I call, Ceefax Football - Tune in at the end of the game to find our result, if enjoying the actual game itself isn't important. And as I have spent good money continously for my season tickets which I've had since we were last relegated under that other useless cunt Grant, I want to enjoy my football once again. And after 12 years consecutively back in the Premier League, with all the money pouring in to the Club and now with a new fuck off 62,000+ Stadium we've been plotted in for nearly 10 years, I really don't think it's asking too much to see exciting, attractive football played by us (not by the opposition).

If the likes of Villa (also relegated in more recent times to us) can seriously battle it out for the top 4, whilst playing attractive Football and do very well in Europe, then so can we.

Seriously this is the Moyes effect... he has sucked the joy out of being a West Ham simply by still being our manager.. of course I was relieved we'd won when their goal was disallowed... but in the back of my mind I thought if we make Europe via 7th place Moyes might stay... and unfortunately above anything else I want him out of my club... its a sad sorry state but thats how I feel.

Im sick of seeing his stupid jock face before during and post match... I just cant stand the ugly useless fucker. Sick of dreading what sort of negative shit hes going to set us up like, sick of him blaming anyone else, sick of him harping on about 3 seasons in Europe like hes doing us a favour sick of the way he ignores our youth team, sick of the way he is treating Ben Johnson who had another good game when he came on yesterday..

There I said it Im not proud and Im not sure how I can get around it... but that is how I feel... not sure about how the other Moyes Out lot feel but there you are...

I think it's fair to say West Ham got away with one. Should have been a draw. Weak defending game on game and inviting pressure. Ward-Prowse goal a fluke. Taken by the wind over the keeper. No way he meant that.
The team is in poor form. If we have lost Bowen to injury that is a massive loss for Thursday - not that I think we will bother to attack. It will be a backs to the wall hoof it away setup.
I really hope we get rid of Moyes at the end of the season and find someone with more ideas on how to use 100m quid players.

Re: ⚽ Wolves v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Fabianskis (6ft 3) vision wasn't blocked by Chirewa (5ft 11) during the flight of the ball or even when contact was made with Kilmans (6ft 4) head especially after leaping in the air. We got away with one that fortunately went in our favour for a change due to the shambolic VAR system that no one likes. Whether Fabianski might or might not have got to the ball is irrelevant in the Laws of the game which isn't important.

What I want to see is VAR fucked off for good. It was meant to clear up any confusion in the game, instead creates far more talking points whilst holding the entire game up whenever a goal is scored.

Fauxstralian 8:54 Sun Apr 7
Re: ⚽ Wolves v West Ham - Official Match Thread
There is no obligation on Fabianski to do anything
Under the law the obligation is on the attacker to be ONSIDE & if he isnt his obligation is not be blocking the keepers eyeline
