The thing that sticks out most for me last night is fucking off out of the athletics stadium and going for a pint.

I don't remember things like scores, who played, what Opta stats are and stuff like that. I DO remember little things like Sakho kissing the pitch at the last ever game at Upton Park and an opposition player who must have been gutted at conceding that goal in the very last minute shrugging his shoulders and applauding Payet's sublime skill.

It's those little things that make me love watching us from the stands rather than go where the Sky director wants me to.

If you think it's 'flannel' and think me too sentimental I'll just have to learn to live with it. The game wasn't televised and it's the kind of thing I'd like to read about on here and I'm sorry you don't. You are of course perfectly at liberty to see something I post and completely ignore it and move along.

'I also saw something great on the pitch that I don't think I've ever seen before. As the free-kick went in all the Accrington players looked gutted with their heads down but one of their defenders looked up at Payet and genuinely applauded him. You could almost see him as an old man telling his grand-kids he once shared a pitch with Dimitri Payet. It was a classy touch and worth going just for that''

Fuck me, what a load of old flannel.

Personally I think we've changed too many things, too quickly and that is a big contributing factor in why we're so lacking in confidence this season.

The stadium, training ground and badge is too big a change all at once. Whereas Bilic could tell the players what Upton Park was like in the 'old days' and what the club meant to the fans, now he knows no more than any of the players.

I've noticed loads of posh accents coming from the stadium this season (rare at Upton Park) and even heard a posh old bird tell off a rough-as-arseholes woman (not rare at Upton Park) that she would be writing to the club about her 'foul language'.

When you add in two of the most difficult away games into the start of the season you don't get any traction and the fact that you've been completely dominated in both games leads to a lack of self-confidence and Watford and West Brom have exploited that- even if we did outplay Watford until they scored at virtually the perfect time.

It sadly reminds me of the last time we were relegated where we'd often race into a two goal lead then collapse when the other team got a goal back. I hope I don't start thinking 'there's a lot of this game left' like I did under Grant. I never felt confident when we were 2-0 up. It's a terrible feeling.

Last night was one of those games where you come away disappointed no matter what happens. Beat them 6-0 and it's 'only Accrington fucking Stanley'. As it was, every addition to the squad looked shit bar Arbiloa, Arthur and Norbiet at centre-back and I'm probably being generous with Norbiet who even needs two or three touches before making a pass against a second division club. He really slows the game down playing like that.

Still, it was worth going just to see Lanzini who really showed what it takes to beat tenacious opposition. Speed, great close control and crucially doing everything he could to simply get the ball to Payet.

Fair play to Accrington who really gave us a game and their supporters were going mental for the whole 96 minutes. Even as Payet's free-kick went in I quickly looked at their supporters and their demeanour hadn't changed at all- they were still jumping around going mental like they'd just scored themselves.

I also saw something great on the pitch that I don't think I've ever seen before. As the free-kick went in all the Accrington players looked gutted with their heads down but one of their defenders looked up at Payet and genuinely applauded him. You could almost see him as an old man telling his grand-kids he once shared a pitch with Dimitri Payet. It was a classy touch and worth going just for that.

I used to get intermittent connection on phone at UP.

So far have never got any connection at all at OS during the match but maybe would have done last night given 20K fewer than normal... I didn't check.

Unfortunately I can't tell you what you want to hear.
Zaza is on a season long loan and if he plays a certain number of PL games in that time we MUST make the deal permanent. I've seen different numbers of games involved, some say 16,some 12 and even as low as 6 has been mentioned.

I suppose he must score some time, mustn't he? And even look like an international striker with a bit of luck.
