Come On You Irons is on a wind up

He's also about 5 points from being completely fucking wrong, as that side of shit and average players as he calls them very nearly did qualify for the CL.

You've expressed the problem better than me. I did not qualify the "squad strength" but as you say, just having a body to play in a position or "someone doing a job" or Moyes adapting players is all part of the squad weakness. Quality being the key word. That said didnt we have a few games with 2 goalkeepers as subs and not a full bench?

Anyway, the concensus seems to be widespread. We need quality back up in central midfield. With injuries, and if we have a European competition there should be enough games to rotate as opposed to relying on Rice and Soucek never getting injured.

A new, better than Cresswell left back. Defensively that might not too hard ( when Cresswell is in a back 4 anyway) but he has become a bit of an "assist" player with his crossing so ideally you get someone who is good technically too.

New goalkeeper needed asap, Old Fab's got a season or two left in him but he is, by nature of his age, likely to be on the downward trajectory from now on.

And last but not least, one decent, young, quality striker.

Due to our budgets, I foresee a few more "Vodka boys" or "Potatoe Salad Boys" . Not only are they good value, sound technically but have the humilty and attitude needed. No more Big Time Charlies please. That will mean Sullivan and his agents keeping out of things which is the biggest risk to us continuing to improve.

You're clueless.

You're better off being a spurs fan.

I think another positive this year is we have won games when not playing particularly well. At times we have been excellent, and have had spells in matches where we have been very good but I wouldn't say we have been flying like the 85/86 season for instance and have we played better this year than we did in Payet's first season? We have dug out results which is a plus but have thrown away games where we should have won which is a negative so positives and negatives throughout the season but far better than your typical West Ham season!

If we get over 60 points this season it will be a great improvement, now need the investment to stay there, cant see that improving though.

Quite right, 67.

We've been poor for the past five or so games, and we need to re-find our form - no doubt about that. But some on here would have a sizable chunk of our squad down as 'shit' footballers.

Which is news to me. By that definition, I would love to have been as shit. It would have been a great career being so awful.

The reason I refrain from posting on her after a few poor games is some posters would rather that and attempt to prove themselves to be correct whereas I rather win every game and be wrong

Most managers are average in the PL and if they are above average they wouldn't manage us.

Bit of an average statement you made glasshopper....twice, you made better ones in Kung-Fu.

Didn’t expect us to get CL.

Mainly because Moyes is an average PL manager and I knew we would bottle it at the end.

Agreed.

I still think we will do it.

I can see us winning our last two and us getting 6th. Think we will push Spurs to 7th and Everton to 8th.

Still hanging on like a mug LOL

Mipo will score goals but needs time with Lingard and or Antonio on the pitch with him, bit harsh to judge him on the Man Utd Cup game.

This is probably a fair assesment, i think another out and out ST is needed......then another winger/striker type of player like Son or Josh King etc....

For me aside from the striker and CM situation which has to be addressed in the summer with or without europe the key alarming feature in the following.......

There is not one member of the U23 squad that looks close to getting any minutes in the first team. When premier league squads get thin teams such as Leicester, Everton, Southampton etc have youngsters ready to come in and do a job or ready for their chance. We don't seem to have that this season, now its either they aren't ready or Moyes doesn't trust them or want to blood them. Judging by the performances we've seen on loan from our youngsters and their U18 and U23 league positions this season id say it was the former.

Mipo may be good enough in time but looks miles off still at the moment......Ashby looked good in the cup but we're long of right backs. Baptiste and Ajese are highly rated but we have CB's. Coventry has been rooted as a lot of potential but surely we would of seen some of it this season if that was the case?

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham ⚒ - Official Match Thread
Of course it's hard to find a player like Rice, but as with how Brighton has found with their CDM, (can't spell the cunts name) there are players out there.

stewie griffin 4:53 Mon May 17
Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham ⚒ - Official Match Thread
yep...so Declan Rice is irreplaceable for us.

The best player in the league in his position is irreplaceable. Shocker. We need 4 or 5 years of sustained success before that doesn't become a problem for us. If ever.

Block 4:50 Mon May 17
Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham ⚒ - Official Match Thread
I think we need an improvement on Cresswell as he isn't getting any younger, also when we play 3 at the back we know he can slot in on the left side.

In CM we definitely need to add depth, take out either Rice or Soucek and we're left with putting a square peg in a round hole or playing an 100 year old Noble.

Whilst I agree it's hard to keep players happy over a 38 game season, injuries play a huge part and since Rice has been injured our results have dropped significantly.

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham ⚒ - Official Match Thread
Block,

"Left back, (johnson and Arthur aren't good enough"

Agree on Arthur, probably slightly harsh on Johnson given its his first season and he's a right back. But...i don't disagree, but isn't that exactly the point i'm making? If we need another left back, we need an improvement on cresswell. We've had 10 years under this lot of signing 'back ups', and you end up with a squad that's deep enough, full of 'average' players with no major drop-offs in standard, but ultimately not good enough when push comes to shove. So you end up 7th or 8th if you have a good season. Maybe 6th if someone else has a shit season
