Agree with you…Dive for
Lyon…also going away from goal…

Frankfurter never had control of the ball and legs tangled as they ran…

Neither was clear cut IMO…

The Lyon red was soft but he had to go vs Frankfurt, straight red no argument

I'm still aghast at how no one thinks the red on cresswell was ridiculous. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Both decisions against him were two of the softest reds I've ever seen. Both times the player threw themselves to the ground. Against Eintracht the player never had possession. The ball bounces behind him and cresswell makes an attempt to play the ball. It's not at all clear he would have had any opportunity on goal.

Twoleftfeet, ex pros as referees, it wouldn’t be anyone who’d played in the premiership as they don’t need the money or aggravation, but basically we lost Thursday night back in January when no squad additions were added. Never mind I think we can all name tomorrow’s team and even at what time the substitutes will take place. The players must be absolutely knackered and are now looking forward to their summer holidays.

Shall we start with a ball-park number for pints per hour?

Even the late, great Johnny Lyall got into hot water after he had stated to Clive Thomas during the 1981 League Cup final that he had ‘felt cheated’ after Thomas had allowed Kennedy’s goal with Sammy Lee laying prone offside and interfering with play. Thomas, of course, reported that Lyall had in fact called him a ‘cheat.’

As the well known West Ham fan Samuel Beckett said “Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” Not sure I'll be around if it takes them another 46 years to get to a European semi-final.

Who knows how the game would have turned out last night were it not for the sending off but I do agree that Moyes is very predictable and does seem to lack being able to have that tactical awareness to change things. His use of subs isn't great, rarely does he make a sub that changes a game.

I've got more issues with Mike Dean in the Arsenal game than I do with the bloke last night.

In the main European referees are absolute dog shit.

They just seem to allow slow play and time wasting.

But to be fair there are very few referees in the world that are any good, what we need is ex pros doing it and then you’ll see better games but most referees these days have not played the game.

"If UEFA punish him for speaking the truth"

But he didn't?

Spot on Pagey, nice change to have a manager and captain care as much as us fans, I felt like kicking the tv in by that stage of the game. If UEFA punish him for speaking the truth it will just reinforce my view that they're corrupt and want to keep the status quo in European football with the same group of rich teams every year taking turns on the merry-go-round hoovering up the money and trophies

Have to agree, he was truly spinning some awful shit in his interviews after the game, which is a worry. BUT, he was emotional and likely wasn't thinking straight, so maybe give him a pass on it.

But football history has literally thousands of cases of 10 men turning around deficits to win, so to try to take some kind of credit just because we didn't collapse is fucking odd.

Feel for Coufal, who the camera caught sat on the touch line having been subbed. Wish him well.

I take it Moyes will have a touchline ban going into our Conference League campaign next season?

Re: ⚽ Eintracht v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Rice got it wrong regarding the ref and so did Moyes. They both will no doubt be fined for what they said and did, but I do love the fact that they give a shit.

It was an emotional night and they both lost control for a bit. Normally they’re spot on with that side of things. Nothing wrong with a bit of passion at times.

The ref was good. He veered towards lenient to everyone all night, including Cresswell until he was VARed. Nothing wrong with that. When Rice got booked it was for dissent and the first time I heard his name all match.

Not just Creswell but Fornals Malla was caught napping for the two goals in the London Stadium. He was ball watching in both occasions..
