BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION vs MANCHESTER UNITED (1230)
The Seagulls have the evil eye over their opponents today, have beaten them in more than 40 percent of their Premier League meetings. Both sides started this season with a win and will want to build on that this afternoon. But it’s hard to pick a winner, so fence time it is. 1-1

CRYSTAL PALACE vs WEST HAM UNITED (1500)
Speaking of the evil eye, Palace have destroyed our best-laid plans far too often for anyone’s liking in recent seasons. But Antonio has a good record against the Eagles and another goal today, if he plays, would be welcome. It will be interesting to see Lop’s team selection, with AWB and other new acquisitions waiting impatiently for a start at least. A tough fixture, but one that we can win. The season starts. 0-2

FULHAM vs LEICESTER CITY (1500)
It’s hard to see Leicester emulating anything like their form of last season. This is the kind of game that’s tough for anyone and you’d expect a quiet journey home for the Foxes 2-0

MANCHESTER CITY vs IPSWICH TOWN (1500)
Ooh. 5-0

SOUTHAMPTON vs NOTTINGHAM FOREST (1500)
The type of game that the Saints have to win if they’re to stay up this season. The same applies to Forest, which makes this an intriguing fixture full of southern promise. Old-fashioned, tough and red-blooded. Good for the neutral. 2-1

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs EVERTON (1500)
Spurs started the season with a draw at Leicester, not quite what they wanted or indeed what a top-four chasing side would have aspired to. But along come Everton to cheer things up in N17 or whatever their postcode is. The Toffees also started the campaign disappointingly with a 0-3 home defeat to Brighton. Yuk. 3-0

ASTON VILLA vs ARSENAL (1730)
The game of the day if you exclude us at Palace. A real test for both sides and one that the visitors cannot afford to lose if they’re to mount a serious assault on the title. Should be a good watch between two quality sides and bosses. 2-4

*SUNDAY*

BOURNEMOUTH vs NEWCASTLE UNITED (1400)
Howe do, Eddie? Bournemouth started the campaign with a creditable draw at Forest, while Newcastle crept past Southampton. Another one that’s hard to predict. 0-0

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs CHELSEA (1400)
Don’t know what to think or say about this. You’d expect Chelsea to win. 0-2

LIVERPOOL vs BRENTFORD (1630)
A decent start for the Reds last week, but Brentford will prove tough competition as always. 3-0

*CHAMPIONSHIP*
Leeds left Hillsborough last night with all points in the bag – their first win of the season. But Burnley, Sunderland and Watford are the Championship’s early trailblazers, Sunderland host Burnley today while Derby visit Vicarage Road. Slowly, the table is taking shape.

Just watching RefWatch on SSN re the Bournemouth 'handball'

Re: Saturday football
As you’d expect after spending a billion pounds Chelsea have some very good players and should be challenging
Maresca does seem more ruthless than some of the previous managers but he does need to shift about 20 players to have a workable squad
They have spent £300m on Enzo , Caicedo & Mudryk so they should actually be better

Re: Saturday football
Maresca does seem to have a bit about him. Noble identified him as something special when he was assistant to Pellegrini all those years ago

Manuel 5:37 Mon Aug 26
Re: Saturday football
Unlikely, but i wonder if Maresca is the real deal and can get Chelsea challenging? I like the cut of his jib, bombed out Sterling and others, and was slating Mudryk after the game yesterday. This is a serious bloke who ain't there to make friends.

Re: Saturday football
What that coward Joelinton did to the keeper needs to be re-visited, that was common assault and could have broke his neck. A new season and VAR once again is a fucking disgrace.

I have no clue if the Cherries winner should have stood, does anybody know??

It's a shame we never managed to get that Cole Palmer deal over the line.

Some lad needed Liverpool to win 3-0 to scoop one million quid on the Super6 . Agonisingly close

Watched a bit of the Liverpool game
Believe Brentford also played but you wouldn’t know it
Might as well be watching Liverpool TV
Hosted by Mrs Dalglish & have always said Carragher shouldn’t commentate on Liverpool games. Too biased
Noticed G Neville dipped out of a trip to Anfield
Of course Sky always allow the self indulgent tosh of Liverpool fans singing YNWA for the cameras in full.
Something not done for any other team before matches

Absolute farce at the end of the Bournemouth game.

The 'handball' decision was a joke and the fact that Joelinton wasn't sent off for assaulting the keeper is a disgrace.

Not been watching either game but sounds like Wolves are missing Maximilian KILMAN

As I have said many times on here now NOBODY knows the handball law now. Nobody.

No way that goal should have been overturned. No vested interest in the game and I’m fucking angry.

Absolute cunts on VAR. How long until Howard Webb comes out with an apology.

How has Coote, or VAR, not seen a clear red for a clothes line from Joelinton.

PGMOL are laughable amateurs at best. Absolute cocks ruining the game.

I'm curious why every one of these Chelsea players haven't been yellow carded for surrounding the ref and pressuring him to change the call

Re: Saturday football
Getting ugly at Everton now and ginger sounding like a beaten man. The Yank who has a 45% share at Palace, John Textor, is interested in buying Everton, but will only do so if he can't buy all of Palace, which is want he wants to do but it's looking unlikely. Moyes surely walks into that job if Dyche goes.

Yeah, but they've played two absolute dogshit teams so far :)
