Vic was one of the old school who had the habit of barging the keeper into the net if he had the ball in his hands. This was allowed in the mid fifties and sixties. I first saw him playing for Newcastle and he scored one like that and a header in the Geordies beating Fulham 5-4 in an FA Cup 4th round game in 56.

NS I apologise I thought we were told of Allisons TB early in the August. but I do remember that the team benefited from the inclusion of Mr reliable Kenny Brown. Give my best wishes to your Dad.

Northern Sold, I am sorry but Malcolm Allison did not play in that promotion team

So WHU Stats said he played 5 games and scored 1 goal... would that have been the start of his TB ??

I asked my old man about that promotion team and he can't remember any of them individually.

Although he remembers they were a pretty good team.

I'm beginning tp suspect where my own shit memory comes from...

Northern Sold, I am sorry but Malcolm Allison did not play in that promotion team he was replaced at centre half by Ken Brown. The players that did play not on your list were M Grice, J Smith W landsdowne ,E Lewis and M Pyke. They were good days, none of all these pulled hamstrings although playing on crap pitches with a bloody heavy ball.

Vic and John Dick were a great pairing. It was their goals that were a big factor in our promotion to the 1st Division.
