Woke watch
There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at

I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration.

Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist.

Yeah I noticed that too, how is that the main story given what happened at Wembley today? Seems crazy.

I see from the BBC website that Chelsea wimmin winning their two bob league in front of 3 or 4 thousand is a bigger deal than the Championship play-off final in front of 86,000.
And to make matters worse they lie in the match report, stating that all the stands remained full at the end.

The BBC are supposed to provide reports on football matches, not act as a promoter of something that hardly anyone cares about.

"All this means to me is something progressives won't believe. We've come a long way. They'll have you believe it's never been worse"

This is so true, even as a kid i can vaguely remember seeing the no blacks or Irish signs, the lobbing of bananas at black footballers when they started coming though, everyone thought it was hilarious at first but over time its now very unacceptable as is the signs on places to let etc and whole host of other racial things or slurs that have now disappeared.

We have come a long way and evolved as different cultures and community integrate with our own and give it another generation or so without interference from the radical and progressive elite and it will have all but gone i would bet.

However, all these hysterical and hate filled BLM and Woke elites are doing is setting things back by years spewing their nonsense about it never being so bad and how white people are inherently racist etc, all it does is get peoples backs up and, on all sides fuel more hate, entitlement and envy.

It just amuses me that things that are seen quite rightly as highly offensive now were treated as the norm. Especially if it catches me by surprise.

The biggest thing that surprised me was how painfully unfunny it was. Painful to watch

Why?

Re: Woke watch
It was on legend TV (a sky channel, it was Sunday night just before the goodies)

I'm fully aware it was of its time (if that), but I'm surprised they put that bit on TV. Clearly not vetted. Very little offends me frankly, especially if it's something from times gone by. Find it amusing that these things were seen as nothing back in the day.

There was a bit on "duty free" on during afternoon tv a couple of years ago when a Japanese business man was described as "he was the colour of lurpack". Again of its time but.surpeised they let it on TV now, especially with so many things getting edited. For "modern audiences".

All this means to me is something progressives won't believe. We've come a long way. They'll have you believe it's never been worse.

Mad Dog

Its not on TV so you must have found it online I guess.

I suppose the Mad Dog of 1988 would not have noticed this, why do you think the Mad Dog of 2023 is bothered?

Serious question.

Caught a bit of the benny hill show at the weekend. Fuck me it was dire. Anyway end credits I had to rewind it to double take what I thought I'd seen.

Loads of pics of hill in costume and right next to each other there was one of him as roll Harris and one of him in black face. This wasn't the 70s it was from 1988.

Still not as offensive as the "comedy"

According to the Mail:

Transgender cyclist Emily Bridges accuses British Cycling of 'genocide and violence' and compares bosses to Nazis after sporting body banned trans athletes from female category races. She says 'I'm having to consider an exit plan from this terrible island'.

Wanting to watch the TV series 'The Chinese detective' starring David Yip. Pretty sure no streaming platform wants to stream it because of the emphasis that the detective is Chinese.

If that woman is upset by 'Of Mice and Men' she'll shit her pants when she gets round to 'Tom Sawyer' or 'Huckleberry Finn'.

Re: Woke watch
Perhaps Steinbeck could be edited so that every time a character is about to use the n word everyone stops and takes the knee?

Seriously I have no problem with works of art reflecting the time they were written or set in.
This idea like with Roald Dahl where people wanted to edit him and not have a FAT CUNT referred to as a FAT CUNT was ludicrous
The only editing Dahl needs is to correct the spelling mistake in his name RONALD

Re: Woke watch
What I find disappointing about this complaint is that Steinbeck was a supporter of the underdog. There is no mention of this by the complainer she is simply uncomfortable with the use of the N word.

Steinbeck wrote a story at the time using the spoken language of the time and anyone reading it would have to reach chapter four before the first use of N*****. How will people know of things in the past, the things ordinary people experienced and lived through, If great writings are sanitised?

Imho we need to keep books like Of mice and men and To kill a mocking bird complete and unexpurgated on the curriculum so that people can see how far we have come from past attitudes.

Of course the tone ,demographic of the clickers & DIVERSITY is also monitored

So you will see an emphasis on:
BIRD football
Vinicius Jr being abused
Tina Turner being a domestic violence survivor (she sang a bit too I believe)

'Well they will have to evidence to their bosses that the site is well-read'

I doubt it. If that were the case then the front page of the BBC football site wouldn't be infested with articles about women's football and they wouldn't be prioritising the WSL over the Championship play-off in their fixture list.
