Re: RIP Sven
As said he had a great life and he lived longer than my old man did, so I doubt, and hope, he would want one shred of sympathy. A very fortunate, blessed man.

RIP, he seemed like a good old boy.

Re: RIP Sven
My favorite Sven story as told by Didi Hamann back when he was in charge of Man City...........RIP

One morning I was on a sun lounger by the pool when I saw Sven walking towards me carrying a silver tray with a bottle of champagne and two glasses on it.

It was still only ten o'clock in the morning...Sven came over and put the champagne on the table next to me, then placed one glass in front of me and the other by his lounger.

I looked up and said, 'Boss, what are we celebrating?'

He looked to me and smiled that gentle smile of his and took on the air of a Buddhist philosohper as he said, 'Life, Kaiser.'

Then, after pausing for dramatic effect, 'We are celebrating...life.

That 5-1 win in Munich was something else and utterly wonderful.
Shame it never came to anything but we were only a whisker away.
The Ronaldinho fluke made my heart sink.

Re: RIP Sven
Seemed a genuinely nice guy who spent his life working in football & playing the field
Think most of us would check out at 76 if offered that as a life
Good that he got to see how much he was loved after he announced he didn’t have long left
RIP Sven

Re: RIP Sven
He gave hope to us fellas with high foreheads glasses and dodgy boat races that you could still pull some right sorts if you had a bit of charisma about you

Although the money and fame might of been a factor of course.

RIP Sven

I should imagine there will be a fair amount of vintage bintage
on display at the funeral

Re: RIP Sven
It's not the amount of fanny that counts, it's the quality and in that regard, Sven is up there with Roger Vadim, the lucky bleeders.

RIP Sven

Seemed a very decent bloke.

Respect also the bucket loads of fanny he helped himself to.

Got to score highly on life review.

*applauds*

RIP Sven.

As England manager thought he did OK with the collection of out of control egos he had to manage.

Re: RIP Sven
Even though I believe that if you've got to be English to play for England, so you've also got to be English to manage England, I have nothing but respect for him as a person and what he achieved in (football) management.

RIP.
