I don't normally comment on political threads but I'm truly shocked by this!

Re: Detached Retina
Westside. I had 4 ops all under local. Duration about 40 minutes each. Its not too bad..... Eye is clamped open and the pupil fully dilated (the surgeon uses it as a window to see what they're doing. Tiny instruments are introduced into the appropriate area through holes in the eye, like keyhole su...

Re: Detached Retina
Yeah, not my favourite memories. I've always been extremely short sighted (-11) and wore contact lenses. As a result my eyes are bigger therefore the retina has to be stretched to fit, making it thinner. With age, I was 65 at the time, the vitreous humor, the jelly, in the rear section of the eye so...

Re: Detached Retina
Had this in my left eye 2018. Like you, I had an opaque half moon shadow in the bottom of my eye and horrendous floaters (was like a firework display). I was rushed to the JR in Oxford for surgery that evening. My retina was detached and torn at the top (images are reversed in the eye). Had the jell...

A Saluki/cocker cross from a pikey site. Best natured dog I've ever known. Runs bloody fast too. I guess it just wasn't up to killing hares or whatever pikies do with them. We've had her for 3 of her 4 years and love her to bits.

Re: For WHO's birders
And today, for the first time, two flittery chiffchaffs. 😍 I presume they followed the blackcap: 'warbler see, warbler do'. Can't stop grinning. Truly fantastic birding lately. Also watched a red kite flying after a pigeon in the air with great determination. I don't know whether it was hunting it ...

Re: Old dads with young kids
Whenever I start to remenisce, my daughter (now 34, I'm 70) would say "during the war......" a la Uncle Albert in Fools and Horses. Started taking her to Upton Park almost as soon as she could walk. We used to go to The Prince of Wales? around the back of Green Street for a swift half befo...

I’ve heard tell they never ventured out into the badlands of Naaaarfolk for similar reasons, Splodder. I'm from Gloucestershire, our local, Cheltenham based mob called themselves 'Cotswold Chapter'. When their President took the stage at Weeley calling for calm, the chorus of 'oooh arrrrr' from the...

Weeley Festival 1971 when the Angels tried to run 'security'. Great fun!
Some caterers from the East End took exception and beat 5 shades of shit out of them with shovels.
Music was good though.
